Dominica, the nature island of the Caribbean, has nine active volcanoes and diverse habitats that include vast swathes of unexplored rainforest. Tumbling down from its elevated interior are hundreds of rivers, each with countless cascades and waterfalls. There are scores of volcanic vents, birds and other animals that live nowhere else, and there is the second largest boiling lake in the world. Inhabiting their own territory are the Kalinago, Dominica's indigenous people, and the last of their kind in the eastern Caribbean. An off the beaten track destination for independent travellers who love nature, culture, hiking and scuba diving, Dominica is amazing.
There is no other Caribbean island like Dominica and much of it is a mystery still to be explored, discovered, discussed, researched and unravelled, and this is why I created Dominica Traveller. Welcome to the very first edition.
