CAREER DEVELOPMENT We offer individual career guidance and group activities to: · understand and strengthen your soft skills (mock interviews with HR professionals) · identify your skills, passions, talents, and values, and learn how to communicate them · prepare the tools you need to present your profile effectively in the job market (writing and revising your CV) Who will you meet? HR professionals and assessors, corporate mentors, or Career Service advisors, alumni, technical managers, and specialists. EVENTS WITH EMPLOYERS Participate in daily online and on-campus meetings with companies to: · Hear firsthand accounts of professional roles · Understand the job market trends and the roles and activities of engineers, architects, and designers within companies · Discover innovation projects developed by companies · Speak directly with managers, often Polimi alumni

How can you understand and stay up to date with the job market? Check out the employment and market data available online on our website to get an idea of job prospects, salaries, and contract types. And then, how do you find a job? Build your initial professional network and take part in real job interviews to find an internship or a job. Check out the Career Service’s online job board and submit your application if you’re looking for work experience or an internship. Attend our job fairs, called “Career Days”: they’re a great way to expand your knowledge of companies and startups, discover new Italian and international employers, and introduce yourself to HR professionals.
A PODCAST We’ve also created a podcast called MY TURN, designed for you as you enter the job market. In 6 episodes, we discuss key topics for those seeking their path. These aren’t typical lessons but rather practical advice and concrete tips from experts who engage in conversations with Polimi students, just like you! ASSESSMENT CENTER – CAMPUS LEONARDO The Assessment Center is a space designed to support you in preparing for the world of work with greater awareness and confidence. You can find us at Campus Leonardo. Here, we help you: explore career opportunities, better identify your skills, make informed decisions about your professional path, receive guidance on how to present yourself effectively to companies through your CV, improve your portfolio and professional social media profiles, and take part in individual and group interview simulations.
INTERNSHIP CENTER – CAMPUS LEONARDO The Internship Center is an information hub dedicated to internships. It is also located on the Leonardo Campus and is designed to guide you through the process of finding and securing a training opportunity at a company. Here you can get support to: navigate the range of curricular and extracurricular internship opportunities; understand the application procedures and required documentation; clarify any questions about the administrative and regulatory aspects of internships; and consult with the Career Service team to identify the experience that best fits your academic path and professional goals.
INNOVATORS SPACE – CAMPUS BOVISA LA MASA At Politecnico di Milano, innovation is more than a mindset: it’s an opportunity to turn ideas into action. The Innovators Space is designed for students who want to explore their entrepreneurial potential, develop new skills, and tackle real-world challenges through collaboration and experimentation. Whether you aspire to launch your own startup, drive innovation within an organisation, or create solutions with a positive impact on society, this is the place to begin. Through workshops, training programmes, networking events, and hands-on activities, you can build confidence, connect with like-minded people, and become part of Politecnico di Milano’s innovation ecosystem. 11
CAREER GUIDANCE SERVICES MEET YOUR CAREER ADVISOR A meeting with a Career Advisor gives you the opportunity to consult an expert who can help you showcase your professional profile. During these sessions, you’ll receive tips on how to improve your resume, practice for your first job interview, and gain a better understanding of the sectors, roles, and skills in demand in the job market. As part of this service, you can also explore the Entrepreneurial CV track, designed to highlight your entrepreneurial and innovation experiences. It’s an opportunity to best showcase your journey while strengthening your profile in the startup world. Throughout the semester, you can sign up for one of the scheduled sessions, including “Online Career Advisor with Company HR”, which allows you to interact with a corporate HR representative acting as an advisor.
ASSESSMENT SIMULATION Take part in a group interview simulation led by real corporate assessors to gain insight into the soft skills most in demand today, identify your strengths, and experience a realistic selection process. The activity lasts about 3 hours: you’ll work in a group while the assessors observe your communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. At the end, you’ll complete a self-assessment and receive one-to-one feedback directly from the company representatives. This selection method is widely used to evaluate candidates and identify potential and aptitudes on which to build a career development path.
IMPROVE YOUR PERSONAL BRANDING Boost your personal branding for the job market. This activity helps you strengthen your online reputation and improve your presence on professional social media platforms. You will meet HR representatives and corporate communication experts to learn best practices for optimizing your LinkedIn profile, as well as strategies to increase your visibility and expand your professional network

PORTFOLIO CHECK FOR ARCHITECTS This service is designed for architecture students who wish to refine their portfolio in preparation for entering the job market. It is a personalized career guidance and consulting activity during which you will engage with architects and industry professionals. You will receive feedback on technical and design aspects, as well as on the graphic and visual presentation of your portfolio.
INNOVATOR INTERVIEW Discover your potential as an innovator: in a 30-minute one-on-one session with a Career Advisor, you’ll explore your skills as an innovator, learn how to further develop them and in which areas you can apply them, and identify paths and programs to continue your journey in the world of innovation.
MEET YOUR INTERNSHIP ADVISOR With the Internship Advisor, you can discuss how to make the most of your internship experience, receive practical information on how to search for and activate an internship, and learn about the most frequently asked questions interns most frequently ask the Career Service. By registering online, you can book a one-to-one meeting from the available weekly slots and approach every stage of your internship with greater confidence.
INTERNSHIP READY: YOUR FIRST INTERNSHIP STARTS HERE: Internship Ready is a MOOC designed to help you approach your internship with greater awareness. The course guides you step by step through the search, activation, and management of your internship experience, helping you truly understand its educational value. Through practical modules, reflective activities, and final quizzes, you will gain practical tools to manage the process independently and be well prepared for your first - or next - internship, in Italy or abroad. 13

Startup First Experience is a one-day event designed for undergraduate students who want to step into the shoes of a startup founder for a day. During the event, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team and work on a hypothetical startup, simulating its initial strategic decisions: from product development to market choices, from resource management to team management, all the way to responding to potential unforeseen challenges. It won’t be a simple theoretical simulation: you’ll have to choose, discuss, negotiate, and decide-just like in a real startup.

TEF: PROGRAMMES FOR YOU TEF IGNITION Do you have a startup idea and want to put yourself to the test? TEF Ignition, a 7-week program for students at the Politecnico di Milano and Bocconi University, is the perfect opportunity to start building something tangible! During the program, you’ll be able to: • develop your tech idea, with guidance from mentors • access a €2,000 budget for experimentation • take e-learning modules and participate in workshops • present your final pitch to the jury 50 teams from Politecnico and 50 from Bocconi will be selected. Of these, 15 teams will present their ideas at Demo Day and compete for the TEF Awards.
TEF FOUNDRY TEF Foundry is a 9-month program (October 2026–June 2027) that bridges the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world applications. Through structured proof-of-concept activities and support from industry experts, it assists teams in the following areas: technology validation, customer discovery, team building, and market testing. This competitive program is divided into three successive phases, each with specific objectives and evaluation criteria. Advancement to subsequent phases is not automatic: teams move forward based on their achievement of planned milestones, the quality of their work, and the level of engagement demonstrated throughout the program.
