BHSKC x BNCHSKC x THHSKC Shang-Chi Movie Fundraiser

Charity: Alex's Lemonade Stand

1. Overall the event was really fun and it was a nice

experience to be with so many people at once, whether I knew them or not. The interesting part of the event was that the money was sent to a cancer charity, which made it feel much more than a simple trip to the movies. I would totally recommend these types of events and would be looking forward to them in the future! - Nyaem Mostafa

2. This event was a fantastic event where a bunch of

different key clubs and those not in key club came together to watch a movie. I wanted to go to event because I was able to hang out with my friends and chill. It was also nice knowing that Shangchi is the first ever Asian American superhero, representing us Asian Americans. I would be interested in doing an event like this again because movies are just fun to watch in an actual movie theater with friends by your side. - Kiko Bao 3

3. I loved this event so much! The movie was

amazing and it was great being able to support Asians by watching the first Asian marvel movie. It was amazing to be able to watch this movie with my friends but also helping out on a good cause. Plus this key club collaboration was Epic! - Sherry Lin

4. I had attended the fundraiser event in order to

interact with friends and watch the movie that was both, highly anticipated and very enjoyable. I chose the event as watching movies and spending time with friends is something that I enjoy a lot and I believe that this was a perfect opportunity to get to see the club members and how the club is. It was interesting how people from my brother's school recognized me. I liked the comfortability and openness of the club and definitely look forward to attending more of these events in the future. - Daniel Cho September 18th, 2021

1. This event was definitely something to be

remembered. Although it was pretty nasty smelling everything, it was cool to see how food scraps are used. Key club members also got a good laugh out of it because of how everyone reacted to the smell. I would say this experience made up for the unpleasant smell of the event. It was good club bonding! - Maggie Lin

2. This event was fun but was one of the most worst

smelly event I been too. Working with compost is really not my thing! But I have so much respect for the people who make compost because it not an easy job. It was also a very educational event. - Sherry Lin

3. This event was extremely smelly but overall a fun

experience. I was interested in this event because it’s always nice to gain more knowledge about how compost is made. It was super tiring and the smell made a lot of people gag. In the end it was really relieving and exciting when we were able to close off the pile and say we’re done. It’s great being able to work as a team to help our environment a little more. - Kiko Bao

Commonpoint Queens Food Pantry

1. This event was really fun. There were only a small

group of us who actually were able to go because of the requirements. However, we went from helping customers translate to packing food. This was definitely an experience and something I want to do more in the future, even if it’s not with Commonpoint Queens. - Maggie Lin

2. This event i loved. We were actually able to help the people in our community. Also this event allowed me to use my crusty Chinese skills by helping Asian elder going to the pantry that didn’t understand English. Personally this event was very enjoyable! - Sherry Lin

3. This event was really fun because I got to directly

help out the community with my friends and fellow Key Club members. Working in the Food Pantry was also very fulfilling and had a great deal of meaningful work. For this reason, I look forward to future volunteering opportunities at similar locations to give back to the community. - Ezan Khan

Paper Bridges

11

1. This Paper Bridges event was new and fulfilling, as

you could write to orphans and brighten up there day. While writing my letters, I was able to sympathize with the people I was writing it for, making the event thought-provoking and not just another opportunity to get service hours. I hope we have similar letter events in the future as writing is always enjoyable when there is a purpose behind it. - Ezan Khan

2. Paper Bridges was such a thoughtful event. I got

emotional writing some of my letters, but I just know whoever is receiving them will be happy. I feel sorry for what they have to go through but if we can put a smile on their face by writing letters, I’m all in for it. - Maggie Lin

NYSoM Superhero Festival

13

1. I loved this event because I felt I was really bringing

smiles to people's faces and including everyone by writing translations for information as well as bringing a community together. In this festival, I was stationed at the Welcome Center to greet everyone as well as gift them their incentives, It was a great way to practice my social skills, meet people of different backgrounds and introduce them to event where they found common ground in superheroes. I am looking forward to more volunteer opportunities like this. - Jasmine Germany

This event I really wanted to join because the 2. concept of dressing up as superheroes and having fun just seemed like a childhood dream. Barely anyone from our club joined which was disappointing. However, the event itself was amazing. I dressed up as joker and played cards with the kids. I was surrounded by happiness and I just thought it was nice. Definitely a dream come true, would love to do it again. - Kiko Bao 14
