President's Message

Can you believe that my term as your Key Club president is coming to an end soon?!? I cannot believe it, and I’ll miss my journey as key club president but let's keep it strong while I'm still president! Continue attending events and doing virtual events as well! Let's keep key club great and let win lots of awards at LTC!

Black History Appreciation

In this event I made posters to represent Black History Month. I was able to put my creativity into this which I really enjoyed. I would love to do something like this again.

The event was making posters about important Black figures in history for Black History Moth. I choose this event because I like doing online events. And I would love to do this again next year!

Brighten Beach Kiwanis

For this event, a select amount of key clubbers were able to serve the customers pancakes at Apple Bees! I definitely do not regret attending this event because it helped me gain experience with serving people at a restaurant and get closer to Dr. Salwa! I enjoyed every part of this experience as I was able to interact with many customers and see them enjoy their meals. I’d love to take part in a similar event like this in the future!

The event was really fun! I was defintely tired because it was early but it was worth it. I chose this event partly because I was interested in waitressing and seeing how it would be like. It was interesting because I never thought I would ever do this job at the Key Club event. Overall 9/10 event, I really enjoyed it.

Brighton Beach Kiwanis was an interesting event, to say the least. It didn't help that we had to leave so early in single digit freezing weather. At the event, we served food and breakfast as waiters to the customers at Apple Bees, who turned out to be members of a Kiwanis family. It was definitely an experience and I can say for certain that all of our stress levels were skyrocketing once their demands came in high. I have new found respect for waiters and waitresses because I don't know how they can remain so calm and be able to carry heavy trays of food and drinks without dropping it. While it might seem like an stressful event, my unpopular opinion is that it was not that bad. Now I can put Apple Bees waitress on my resume.

It was really fun because I got to interact with customers and truly felt like I was working an actual job. There was a pleasant mix of stress and excitement!!

LOI

I became a waitress for a day! It was super fun and I got to serve pancakes! I had a great time beside waking up at 5 in the morning for the meetup.

Hashtag Lunchbag Queens

While the key clubbers were at the event, we were able to create little doodles on lunch bags with love notes on them for kids! It was very enjoyable because I love to draw and writing small notes made me happy. After all, it reminded me of when I used to receive those as a toddler. I hope to participate in more events like these because it gives me so much unexplainable joy.

At the Hashtag Lunchbag Queens event, we helped decorate/design paper lunchbags with our own drawings. I chose the event because my schedule was free and it felt the most like an event where I could support a community. I would do something like this in the future because it was relatively easy to do and made me feel like I was contributing to the community.

It was a really fun time just hanging out with members and genuinely doing something that would be spread throughout Queens. Just even coloring and decorating paper bags while listening to music and talking to other key club members made this event even better!

Hashtag Lunchbag is an organization that spreads love and kindness by serving free meals in the community. Volunteers help make bagged lunches and drop in encouraging love notes. During the event, I help make sandwiches and pack lunch.

Participating in this event was very enjoyable. Everyone was able to decorate lunch bags and include positive notes for young children to read. If there were to be another event that's similar to this one I would definitely sign up.

This cute was super duper cute! I absolutely loved seeing members' artistic ability come out and them writing cute and encouraging letters for the kids! This is an event I'll definitely want to do again.

Cupid's Chase

Volunteering at Cupids Chase is something I look forward to attending later on in the school year. We were able to support those participating in the marathon, while congratulating those who completed the marathon. It was interesting since I was able to meet people from different schools.

I participated in the Cupids Chase since I am a runner and was injured. I also care about the because cause and it also applies to me too. It was really fun to participate in and I met many cool people.

The weather that day was horrible. I was freezing cold, and the wind blowing did not help at all. I was praying for a heater the whole time during the event. But the headband was super duper cute!

Lunar New Year Fest l Parade

It was so fun to be able to be in my community, the parade, meeting new people was an exciting new experience. I was able to carry the dragon and experience Chinatown Manhattan for the first time in a while.

We helped move the dragon and assemble it. We ran around holding sticks that were attached to the dragon. We waited for majority of the time to know when to go.

Love is in the Air

For this event, members of the key club were asked to talk about one of their beloved people in their lives. I chose to write about my mother, who I appreciate the most. I feel like as I was writing my paragraph, I realized how much my mom meant to me as a person and as her daughter. I’d love to participate in this virtual event again if it ever occurs.

This event had us write a note to someone we love and deeply cared for. I decided to participate in this event because I wanted to shared to the person how much they really mean to me. It was a fun event to take part of, sharing positivity and love to others, especially when just a little bit of it can make someone's day.

I wrote about someone who I love. I chose this because I wanted to express my love for my mom and how much I love her and how much she means to me. I would participate in a event like this in the future and would greatly enjoy it.

Love A Pet Day

In honor of love a pet day happening in the month of February, the members were able to post a picture of their pet and show their unconditional love for them. I chose to post a picture of my dog, and her name is Bun. I particularly loved this event because I was looking for ways to show off my pretty dog! I hope to participate in this event again next year.

This event is about filing out a google form about a pet. I choose this event because I had a fish who died and I really missed my fish. And I would love to do this again.

#turtle&fish4eva!!!! Not only was there one event for me to be able to brag about how great my pets were, there were 2!! Although u weren’t able to post it, I still had fun sending cute pics of my pets:)

BNCHS X BXSCI Pottery Painting Fundraiser

this was where my artistic skills shined fr. I drew and painted ponyo onto my plate which is from a cute studio ghibli movie! I’ve always wanted to go pottery painting before but never found the time or opportunity to go with this many people! It was a really great experience and I would def do something like this again!

Participating in the fundraiser featuring BXSCI was very interesting. Everyone was able to paint their own plates, I was able to talk to a lot of new people from BNCHS and BXSCI. If there were to be another event similar to this, I would sign up since it was very calming and it allowed me to be creative.

Omg! I had so much painting with faustina and other members as well!

I was super excited to collab with bxsci since my term! This event was super duper fun, since I got to paint my own plate. I will definitely be bringing my plate to college as a memory of keyclub!

In this event I was able to paint pottery plates. I chose this event because it looked fun to me and I wanted to do an event that was fun while it also helped people. What was interesting about it was that it was fun and I was able to decorate my own plate.

It was a very fun event. I liked seeing all my friends and pairing with them. The only thing is they I wished key club could collect the plates for us instead of us having to go all the way down there to get it ourselves.

NYCRuns Central Park Half Marathon and 5k

During this event, a select amount of key clubbers traveled all the way to Central Park to volunteer in the NYCRuns marathon. As frighteningly cold and tiring as it was, we were able to make the most out of the event and hydrate the marathon runners. A few of the members were also able to learn leadership skills, as they were helping lead the event.

A S H

The weather during this event was extremely cold, however being able to volunteer was worth it. We were able to cheer on those participating in the marathon while also refilling drinks for them to take. If there were to be an event similar to this in the future, I would like to participate in it.

We were pretty confused at first. Then we began poring water and whenever there was a large group of people we would be constantly running low on cups. We were very cold.
