Key Club Promotion

For Key Club Promotion, past members from the club reach out to potential new members and spread the word about what Key Club is about and all the fun opportunities it provides. I chose to do this event and tell all my friends about key club because I believe the club has made a huge positive impact on me and I would like them to enjoy and experience it too. The interesting part about the event was that all my friends have heard so much interesting things about key club from me already that I didn't need to promote as much. I would love to do this event in the future because it's a great way to engage many other students to join Key Club. - Amber Sun

This was definitely a great way to promote key club, also I was able to get more of my friends to join the club. This not only helped us gain members in our key club community but also got my friends to join the club so that we could go to the events together. - Labhshree Fnu

I decided to promote key club because Key Club was so fun for me last school year that I also wanted my friends to join. Key club is also a fun and easy way to get community service hours while also hanging out with your friends. I knew that if I promoted Key club, it would benefit our club but also benefit my friends. - Apple Song

This event was such a great way to make our club known to the freshmen and new members. Although key club is already pretty known, the new freshmen aren’t familiar with it so us being able to promote our club will not only benefit us, but it will benefit them too. Key club is where a ton of new friendships are made so no regrets about joining. - Maggie Lin

The Key Club Promotion event was fun and very informative. I invited my friends from different classes to take a look at and consider joining key club. I also enjoyed meeting new people at the event. I would be interested in taking part in these events in the future too. - Elizabeth Rojas

It's a really great way to reel in new members for the school year! This event encourages members to invite their friends for a good cause and also to earn more hours for our club. I found a great way to invite other people as they reached out to me about Key Club support! - Jasmine Germany

The Key Club Promotion was when we went around and tried getting more students to join Key Club. The event was interesting since both sides get something in return. If someone joined, you get 0.5 hours and they get a new experience. I participated in trying to make people around me join Key Club because it seemed like a fun hangout + nice opportunity to help out the community. - Jia Yi (Maggie) Zheng

I can tell my friends and classmates around me to invite them to join Key Club and help them learn more about the club! I think Key Club deserves to be better known! I'm sure there are many people who would be interested in volunteering - I'd love to join my friends too! I would be interested in participating in these virtual activities in the future as well. - Xiyuan Li

This was a creative and thoughtful way to get members into the club and for club members to get hours for themselves. This also encourages students who are unsure if they want to join the club, by giving them hours at the very beginning. I loved this event, as it helped me convince some of my friends to join Key Club and also helped me get my first couple of hours for this school year. - Puja Debi

Event #2

Springfield Gardens Park Clean-Up and Bulb Planting Day

It was like a workout shoveling so many things but it was all worth it since my friends and I got a good laugh out of it. - Maggie Lin As much work as everything was, it was really fun. I got to clean the park with my friends that I haven't seen in a while and also got to meet new people and get close with them! Seeing all the breast cancer survivors and all the people participating in the march made everything so worthwhile and all the people that cheered back when we cheered for them made things so much better. I look forward to any future events where we participate in such events and I’m glad that I attended the event. - Daniel Cho

NY4P Daffodils Project

I really enjoyed this event. During this event, we were split into groups and had to rake leaves and plant Daffodils for the people who've died during 9/11. Overall the event was very fun and I was able to make so many new friends. I went a little overboard by going around, carrying the leaf bags for some of the people, so they didn't have to do it, which really ended up making my arms hurt. However, this didn't stop me from volunteering to do all the extra work they asked assistance for, such as pushing the wheel barrow filled with mulch and carrying the shovels back to where it belong. At the end of the day, my arms really hurt but I was glad that I was able to help. - Puja Debi

During this event, I feel I have genuinely served the community well with the work I did, from planting daffodils, picking up leaves, and so many more.
