THE JUDGES PICK
YOF Project Cardozo Key Club has recently won the Youth Opportunities Grant (YOF), providing us with $1,615 to use for a community fridge project we have been planning for since the beginning of the year. In an attempt to address food insecurity in the local community of flushing, we plan to partner with the MinKwon Center for Youth Activism and Bayside Kiwanis to establish this fridge in the heart of downtown flushing. As COVID-19 and hurricane Ida has caused catastrophic damage economically to the area, it is our mission to relieve the stress of tens of thousands of residents as Flushing has now become the third poorest area in Queens.

It was amazing getting to stay there for 3 days and be able to communicate with everyone and bond with other Key Clubs. I was fascinated by how largely Key Club has affected each district and was able to come up with ideas and gain more insight into my job as Treasurer. However, I was very sad to go as there were so many more things I would've liked to do there and 3 days simply wasn't enough. I look forward to going next year! - Daniel Cho

Went to this event because I was close by to it. Had violin lessons around the area so I thought to drop by. Didn't expect it to be so packed as I thought I was late for the fundraiser. Think I waited about an hour and more in the line for some bubble tea. I was planning on leaving but I saw some friends so I stayed. Got three teas one for me, my sister, and my best friend who lives a few blocks from me. Would I do it again? I'd probably attend earlier or later. I don't wish to wait in a line for an hour for bubble tea again. . NE - Kaylin Tan W This was a great fundraiser to raise a lot of money. Most teenagers love bubble tea so in general, they would be more likely to come E N .toW a bubble tea fundraiser to both get hours and to have their favorite drink. Even in the past when we did this fundraiser, there was a big outcome. It was the event where I and Jasmine invited about 20 people. I loved seeing a lot of people come in for this day, too. - Puja Debi

This event was one of my favorite fundraisers. I got to meet others along with bringing my friends to Momo Ashi to drink boba and eat dessert. I chose this event since it was on a day my friends and I hung out and why not bring them for some boba. They enjoyed it and so did I. I hope we have another fundraiser with them in the future. However, after getting used to everything and getting the hang of packing food and bringing each missing food back onto the tables, it was very fun talking to the members and enjoying life while helping those who needed food.
