Summer is a time for creating new memories as families embark on vacations. Sometimes we try new things and sometimes we like to enjoy the comforts of the familiar and traditions. This year my family is trying something new and taking a biking trip through Coastal Maine with a stop at our 84 Main Resort. I know we will create many memories and hopefully not too many scrapes or tears. We invite you to share your family vacation photos and stories with us!
We have had a couple of very busy months at Capital Vacations®. In addition to preparing to welcome our Club members on their summer vacations, we recently acquired Vacation Resorts International Americas (VRIA), a resort management company with 126 resorts across North America and Mexico. This is exciting news for our Capital Vacations Club owners as some of these resorts have already become Club destinations. In this issue, I’m excited to share two of these resorts where the Club will offer reservations in 2023. You can now “Go west” as one resort is in Hawaii and the other in Southern California.
As we grow, we will continue to add key leaders to our organization to better serve you and, in this issue, I’m pleased to introduce you to our new Senior Vice President of Customer Engagement, Maria Kalber.
Both resorts are in destinations that many of our Club owners have dreamed of visiting and offer the accommodations, amenities, and familyfriendly activities you have come to expect from Capital Vacations. This is just the beginning of our expansion as I expect to be sharing more news and destinations in the coming months.

When we arrived yesterday, they set us up for an info meeting to discuss new updates with the global exchange. We already knew some of the information, but we were willing to stay and listen. Yes, there are multiple SUPERMAN roller coasters each housed within a Six Flags Park. Superman: The Ride is a much tighter coaster that creates extreme G-force pressure on the riders. Top speed is reached as the drop is longer than the height by it entering a tunnel at the bottom of the first drop. Superman: The Ride is an adrenaline rush akin to the momentum of Superman’s racing at the speed of light.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Boomerang begins by being pulled back up a 116-foot-tall hill to being nearly vertical! Kids find it exhilarating. Watch out for the end of the journey! An unexpected plummet takes riders through a pitch-black mine shaft with a 41-foot steep drop.
WHAT TO EXPECT: At 1.25 miles long, Fury 325 is the nation’s longest steel coaster. The ride crosses both North and South Carolina state lines. Known as a giga coaster. The ride reaches speeds of up to 95 MPH. This coaster is not for the faint of heart.

One of Myrtle Beach’s top attractions is creating a summer of light installations like you have never seen.
Located at the Kings Highway entrance to Market Common, this nod to the US Air Force displays several aircraft alongside information about its importance in history. Aircraft on display include F-100 jet fighter, A-10 Warthog Thunderbolt and an A-7 Corsair. The Warbird Wall of Service honors everyone who served honorably at the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, whether military or civilian.

Brookgreen Gardens is known for its artistic beauty by day, but now people can explore its beauty by night. Trees are illuminated with vibrant, saturated colors of blues, purples, and greens. Pathways are lit with over 900 twinkling wine bottles lining the edges.

Nearly all townhomes have remodeled kitchens and brand-new fireplaces – perfect for families traveling to Ocean City. All units have new flooring in the main living areas which conveys a warm, beach home appeal.

Magic Tree Resort was awarded the Certificate of Excellence from Tripadvisor. In 2022, the resort refurbished its kitchens and updated the bedrooms and living rooms in 2021. The resort is pleased that it hasn’t raised maintenance fees in 21 years.

Boardwalk One’s entire oceanfront building has received a facelift this year with waterproofing of decks and fresh paint. Additional updates include replacing the garage entrance awning; interior painting of all units; and flooring upgrades to vinyl wood flooring throughout each unit. Owners and renters have been pleased with the overall renovations.
Stormy Point welcomed a new poolside restaurant. Shady Taco is now open and serving guests. Check out its Facebook page for updated hours of operation and menu options.
Sapphire Valley Resort launched its summer concert series in June. “Concert on the Slopes” continues through Sunday, September 4. Held on the Sapphire Valley Ski Slopes, concert attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy the party.

The tennis court renovation has been completed. The company filled any voids and then laid a fiberglass membrane over the whole court. The contractor then applied two coats of acrylic resurface and then two more coats of acrylic color concentrate. The contractor also painted the lines for tennis, pickleball, and shuffleboard courts tennis court, pickleball court, and shuffleboard court. The fencing was also replaced with a 10-foot vinyl-coated fence. The cost of the project was $32,450.00.
