Visitors are encouraged to participate in the Zoo’s interactive attractions, including feeding a giraffe, taking a safari tour, strolling the desert flora or hiking the trails.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Enjoy the adventure of a lifetime with a hot air balloon flight over Palm Desert. Witness desert wildlife from the safety of the balloon basket. Choose sunrise or sunset flights to enjoy the true majesty of the desert. Advanced reservations are required.

Hiking Ancient Canyons The Agua Caliente Indian Canyons once served as a center for the Cahuilla tribe. Today, the canyons are a “must see” for those who enjoy hiking, horseback riding and strolling through native flora. Explorers will find walking trails at Indian Canyons and a 60-foot waterfall and ancient irrigation systems at Tahquitz Canyon. Ancient irrigation systems, house pits and foundations are still found today as evidence of the Cahuilla people who thrived in this area for thousands of years.
