O
ne of the many great things about living here in Canyon Creek is the abundance of clubs and organizations in which residents can become members. In the months ahead, Canyon Creek Life Magazine will feature a spotlight article on the clubs and organizations of our neighborhood. It’s all a part of Canyon Creek Life! This month’s spotlight is on the Canyon Creek Moms Club (CCMC). The Moms Club is an unincorporated, nonprofit organization of moms with members from the Canyon Creek, Prairie Creek, and Cottonwood Creek Estates neighborhoods. From Floyd to Central and Renner to Campbell, the membership is just as diverse as the neighborhoods in this area. Members include mothers of all ages, with one or more children, and who work outside of the home, own their own businesses, or are stay-at-home moms. This group certainly provides its members with the friendship and support that is needed on the journey through motherhood. Some of the regular activities and events include:

CCMC Vice President Beth Cobb sums it up best by stating, “Even with the best behaved children, being a parent is hard work. Having a strong community of parents in the neighborhood gives our members a great support network and that strong community also allows our members and their children to develop deep friendships before starting school. All of which leads to easier transitions through the various stages of childhood and parenting.” If you would like to join CCMC, you can do so at any time during the year simply by going to their website at www.canyoncreekmomsclub. com and completing three easy steps: • • •

Frequent baby and toddler playgroups Monthly mom’s nights out Quarterly meetings with guest speakers Seasonal family festivals including a Fall Festival, Family Holiday Party, and Spring Fling Moms-only holiday party Parents’ nights out
Referral and recommendation network Social media resources including a buy/sell/swap page
