ENSHRINEMENT FESTIVAL COMMUNITY PARADE

Sunday, July 29, 2:30 p.m. Downtown Canton Enjoy a fun afternoon with family and friends in the heart of downtown Canton while soaking in the sights and sounds of this spirit-filled community parade. You’re certain to smile at the wide array of community youth groups, marching bands, antique vehicles, specialty units, and a giant helium balloon – sure to please folks of all ages. We’re proud to partner with News-Talk 1480 WHBC to produce the telecast of the parade, and the broadcast will be available on Monday, July 30 and Tuesday, July 31 at 8 p.m. on the following: Canton City Schools Channel 11, Massillon Cable Channel 21 and 128, Time Warner Cable 989, and WIVM Over the Air 39.1.

RIBS BURNOFF

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, Aug. 1, 2 and 3 | 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. daily Stark County Fairgrounds Join an enthusiastic crowd of more than 130,000 people over three days to enjoy finger-lickin’ fabulous ribs from local and national vendors, plus a variety of specialty foods. Family-friendly entertainment includes a master sand sculptor, face painting, caricaturists, balloon twisters, Fantasy Football Zone of interactive inflatables, and free musical entertainment all day on the daytime stage. Then head for the grandstands each night for concerts by regional and nationally renowned recording artists: Gin Blossoms on Wednesday night in cooperation with Mix 94.1; Jason Michael Carroll on Thursday night in cooperation with WQXK K-105; and Saving Abel on Friday night in cooperation with Rock 106.9 WRQK. All concerts will begin approximately 8:30 p.m. Free, standing room only will be permitted on the track, but chairs or seating of any kind on the track is not permitted. New in 2012: General Admission seating in the grandstands (bleacher style) will be offered at only $5 per ticket and Reserved Admission seating (seats with backs) will be offered at $9 per ticket. FIRST PLAY

Thursday, Aug. 2, 10 a.m. Downtown Canton Nearly 1,600 excited youngsters line a two-mile route to pass an official NFL football from the site in downtown Canton which was the birthplace of the NFL in 1920 to the front steps of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Emphasizing the importance of physical fitness starting at an early age, it’s also a great ceremonial kickoff to a special weekend of football – and several Hall of Famers will be joining in the fun, so you won’t want to miss it! FASHION SHOW LUNCHEON

Friday, Aug, 3, 11:30 a.m. | Memorial Civic Center and Cultural Center This fabulous luncheon and runway show is arguably the largest and most spectacular fashion show in Ohio, and it’s emceed by perennial favorite Matt Fox, well-known HGTV host and co-host on Cook and Fox in the Morning on Canton’s own NewsTalk 1480 WHBC. Football and fashion might seem like an unlikely mix, but it’s a perfect fit for the nearly 3,500 guests who enjoy a delectable lunch before the start of the show titled “The Guide to Ultimate Style.” It will include state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and video to showcase male and female models featuring the season’s hottest fashions. Providing added energy throughout the show will be a variety of musical entertainment including American Commodore Dancers and the up-and-coming boy band New Hollow. (“Hollowers” – don’t miss it!) ENSHRINEES’ GOLD JACKET DINNER

Friday, Aug. 3, 5:15 p.m. | Memorial Civic Center and Cultural Center More than 4,000 guests experience an extraordinary evening of cocktails, dinner, and football fantasy as a large contingent of returning Hall of Famers, NFL team owners and sports celebrities come together to honor the Class of 2012 Enshrinees. Hosted by an emcee of national acclaim, this is an evening to remember as the new Class of Enshrinees put on their Hall of Fame Gold Jackets, presented by Haggar, for the first time. The gold jacket is one of three iconic symbols of induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the other two being the ring and the bronze bust. FRIDAY NIGHT RECEPTION AT PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME

Friday, Aug. 3, 6 p.m. Pro Football Hall of Fame Enjoy dinner stations along with a beer and wine bar in the Grand VIP Tent on Hall of Fame grounds at this exclusive event. Then, watch a special live broadcast on monitors throughout the museum as the Class of 2012 Enshrinees make their first appearance and are presented with their Hall of Fame Gold Jackets. TIMKEN GRAND PARADE

Saturday, Aug. 4, 8 a.m. Downtown Canton Giant helium balloons, fabulous floats, marching bands, antique vehicles, and specialty units are enjoyed by nearly 200,000 spectators along the 2.2 mile route, thousands listening to the live broadcast on News-Talk 1480 WHBC, and millions more watching the television broadcast of the parade on Sunday, Aug. 12, approximately 6 p.m. on Fox Sports Net Ohio. Excitement abounds as fans welcome the Class of 2012 Enshrinees and more than 60 Hall of Famers riding in the parade. Reserved chair and bleacher seats are available for only $8.50: (330) 458-2088.
