Spring 2025 | Supporting Christian Science Nursing in the Pacific Northwest

LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER – IT’S HEALING!

A well-loved hymn starts, “Why search the future and the past?” (Hymn 391)

Why search the past? What would we find there? SUCCESSES!!

Together we all have had a part in these successes, whether in hosting and attending a care workshop, calling on a field rep or Christian Science nurse or caring for a neighbor, or maybe it was in giving financially to meet the generous 25K matching grant by a grateful church community. Our deep gratitude goes to each of you for supporting the Canterbury Crest mission in this year’s metaphysical theme in Christ’s command of Loving one another, bringing healing.

In this newsletter you’re invited to mark your calendar for the upcoming Annual Meeting, which will be presented online on our website, Sunday, April 27th at 4pm. The Canterbury Crest team and special guests will come together to share how supporting Christian Science nursing care is impacting Christian Science church communities in the Pacific Northwest. Find out about the successes in the care workshops held, two already in 2025 and how to host for your church community. You’ll also find out about the successes in meeting the 25k grant and more.

And that’s why we search the past – to confirm as in hymn (391)

Then rise and greet the signs that prove, Unreal the ages’ long lament; The “one far-off divine event” Is now, and that event is Love. that Christian Science healing is yesterday, today and tomorrow and proving that Christian Science nursing is the loving others that contributes to the healing.

INSIDE:

...Love one another as I have loved you. – Christ Jesus

Why look to the future? Mrs. Eddy says about the “full fruitage yet to come”: “I have never supposed the world would immediately witness the full fruitage of Christian Science, or that sin, disease, and death would not be believed an indefinite time; but this I do aver, that, as a result of teaching Christian Science, ethics and temperance have received an impulse, health has been restored, and longevity increased. If such are the present fruits, what will the harvest be, when this Science is more generally understood?

Speaker

Be sure to mark your calendar for the Annual Meeting Sunday, April 27. It will be fully on-line. The link will be available on our website. Watch your email for more information as the time approaches.

Jessica Charlston, a Christian Science nurse from St. Louis, will be our keynote speaker. The title of her talk is “Fulfilling the New Commandment to Love.”

In the meeting you’ll hear from each of Canterbury Crest’s family of workers as they share with you about their role in fulfilling our mission of supporting Christian Science healing through the ministry of Christian Science nursing.

Field Reps – all Christian Science nurses with their own private duty practices – will talk about their work representing Canterbury Crest. There will be testimonies from the field as well, sharing how the Canterbury Crest model is contributing to healing through Christian Science nursing, throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Board members will have their stories to tell why they are committed to this opportunity to serve as a Board member for Canterbury Crest. And Barb and Peggy will have success stories as co-Executive Directors, to share too.

Loving one another - success in proper care

Success in the fellowship of care comes when participating in a care workshop. Canterbury Crest has already sponsored two workshops in 2025 – here’s some of the feedback shared!

● “This workshop helped me to see how lovingly and practically Christian Science nursing gives ready assistance to all members of our community.”

● “I liked the questions and discussion most in this workshop, and the active participation with demonstrations using equipment.”

● “Great information and ideas shared, it was very helpful... I loved how various Bible stories were discussed that applied to situations we may encounter today.”
