Summer 2024 Internship

The Monument Lab summer internship is a 10 week program providing undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to learn about and support local, national, and international public art non-profit work. Functioning at the intersection of fine art, museum work, history, activism, and public engagement, the Monument Lab internship program emphasizes the myriad of skills involved in non-profit work in general as well as in working specifically with monuments

Interns are paired with supervisors from the various teams at Monument Lab, including curatorial, Project Management, Research, Operations, and Advancement Unless otherwise stipulated to receive course credit or funding, interns are expected to contribute 20 hours per week in the summer session, which can be done virtually, in person at our office in Philadelphia, or as a predetermined combination thereof If more hours are required to fulfill funding or credit requirements, we are happy to accommodate your requirements.

Interns will attend discussion sessions as well as mentoring sessions presented by the staff members of Monument Lab and by artists and representatives from partner organizations.

Qualifications

Duration: Monday, June 10 to Friday, August 16, 2024 (10 weeks)

Eligibility: Undergraduate and graduate students

Note: this is not a Chaplaincy Innovation Lab-hosted event. The symposium is hosted by our colleagues at the Emory University Center for Psychedelics and Spirituality.

Join a three-day conference to nurture collective liberation in the election year. The time to act is now: When freedom rises, we all flourish. This spring, join scholars, artists, prophets and organizers to find rest, build political power, and dream expansively about the world we deserve.

DAY ONE: BE WELL

We cannot effectively love our neighbors if we do not love ourselves. Particularly in these overwhelming days, caring for your body and spirit is essential. Rest and revival are the foundation on which we build a movement.

DAY TWO: DO JUSTICE

As fascism rises, there are so many crucial issues. Often, we feel pulled in a thousand directions: Antiracism, labor rights, reproductive freedom, gun violence, climate catastrophe, queer liberation, welcoming migrants, affordable housing and more demand our attention. Leave with better policy knowledge and skills for organizing, inspired to take these gifts home with you.

DAY THREE: DREAM WILDLY

It’s not enough to condemn unjust systems, we must live into different ways of being. Every change begins with people who dare to envision something different. On our final day, we will model what it feels like to build communities that welcome everyone, exactly as we are. We’ll leave inspired to build a more perfect union for generations to come.

YOUNG ADULT VOLUNTEER

The YAV Experience

The Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program is an ecumenical, faith-based year of service for young people (ages 19–30) in sites across the United States and around the world. YAVs accompany local agencies working to address root causes of poverty and reconciliation. Alongside this work, volunteers explore the meaning of their Christian faith and accountability to their neighbors in the community with peers and mentors.

The YAV year occurs from August to August.

Program Benefits

Benefits during the year of service, in-person, include a regular stipend, housing, all program-related transportation costs covered and studentloan assistance.

We also invite young adults to engage in world issues, commit to selfreflection, listen to those who are being marginalized and learn in a new way . This is an exciting invitation to “a year of service for a lifetime of change.”

The BJC Fellows Program is open to all individuals between the ages of 25 and 45. There are no religious requirements. Applicants must submit the materials listed below, and they must commit to attending the entire seminar in Colonial Williamsburg.

Educators' Neighborhood is a community of educators who learn together inspired from the life and work of Fred Rogers. We define "educator" broadly to include any adult who directly serves children, youth, families, and/or other educators. This year-long opportunity brings together a cohort of individuals from across the world who learn together, primarily through virtual meetings, and consider how to deepen their application of Fred Rogers' work and theory to their work with children.

This highly competitive program yields fellows from around the world with a diverse range of backgrounds and professions who bring their skills and experience to AAPF’s work.

Summer 2024 Fellowship Announcement

The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is seeking a team of highly motivated individuals for its 2024 Summer Fellowship Program!

The AAPF Summer Fellowship is a ten-week remote fellowship starting Monday, June 10, 2024 and ending Friday, August 16, 2024. Fellows will gain first-hand experience in non-profit think tank operations, gaining insight into advocacy, research, and policy analysis. Fellows will work full time (35-40 hrs/wk). A stipend will be provided. Due to the remote nature of this opportunity, fellows must have their own computer and internet access.

Submission Instructions

Eligible candidates should access the application here. You will be prompted to provide your cover letter, a relevant writing sample of 3-5 pages (or relevant representation of your skill, i.e. graphic art, media clippings, etc.), a 250-word statement as to why you are interested in the work, and two professional references.

The 2024-2025 LEAD Fellowship, a 1-year fellowship designed to advance leadership skills in individuals from low- and middle-income countries, is now open for applications. Jointly offered by the Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) and the Department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the goal of the program is to support the continued development of women leaders in global health.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

We welcome applicants from all continents, regions, disciplines, sectors, and gender identities. Candidates nominate themselves by applying for the fellowship.

Applicants must work full-time in the field of global health and have at least 15 years of professional experience beyond their education. Global health-related work completed as a university student does not count as professional experience.

Applicants must have substantial leadership experience and demonstrate further potential.

Applicants must have the support of their employer and a champion in their organization who serves as an internal mentor.

Applicants must take a leave of absence (or equivalent) from their home institution during their inresidence experience for 4 weeks in April 2025.

Applicants must be able to obtain a J-1 visa for travel to the United States in April 2025 and must be available to reside in Cambridge, MA for four weeks. NOTE: Visa fees, housing, and flights will be covered by the fellowship and a living stipend will be provided for the time in the United States. In the two years prior to their fellowship at Harvard, candidates may NOT have participated in any fulltime fellowship that lasted 4 months or longer.

NONPROFIT COMMUNICATORS CONFERENCE

The TCU Nonprofit Communicators Conference offers a convenient one-day training and support for nonprofit communication professionals through interactive workshops at an affordable cost. The annual event is open to any nonprofit communicators “looking for the best way to tell their stories,” said Ashley English, a conference cofounder and strategic communication assistant professor in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication.

With advocacy as the theme, TCU’s 14th annual Nonprofit Communicators Conference is set for Friday, May 17, 2024. The conference runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in TCU’s Dee J. Kelly

Alumni and Visitors Center, 2820 Stadium Drive, Fort Worth. Each year, the conference is organized by the Department of Strategic Communication in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication.

Wilshire encourages followers of Christ to listen for the call to vocational ministry We want children, youth and young adults to view a calling to ministry as equally significant as a calling to medicine, law or business. Pathways to Ministry is our initiative to nurture the work of the Holy Spirit within the lives of young believers as they test their gifts and consider a calling to vocational ministry.

Wilshire’s Pastoral Residency Program

The pastoral residency program at Wilshire has become a nationally recognized model for excellence in clergy preparation. Wilshire identifies as a “teaching congregation,” just as some hospitals are teaching hospitals with medical residents.

While the training offered in seminaries and divinity schools focuses on academic and biblical knowledge, what’s often missing is practical teaching about the work of the church. Wilshire seeks to fill that gap by offering recent seminary or divinity school graduates two years to learn the ropes of local church ministry in a safe and healthy practicum. In the long term, we believe, this will extend the ministry of pastors and prevent early burnout.

Residents receive competitive salaries and benefits packages, including a parsonage. This is a full-time job, not an internship. We will be accepting two residents to begin August 1, 2024. Candidates should identify with the Baptist or Free Church traditions and hold a Master of Divinity degree by the beginning of their residency.
