The Resident Handbook answers many commonly asked questions regarding living at CampusOne. In addition, the Resident Handbook describes policies that act as an addendum to the policies laid out in your Lease Agreement.

The Lease Agreement and the Resident Handbook are important guides that you should be familiar with throughout your time at CampusOne. You are expected to comply with both the Lease Agreement and Resident Handbook rules and regulations in addition to all applicable municipal, provincial, and/or federal laws.

As a Resident, you are required to read the Resident Handbook in its entirety. Management reserves the right to amend or change the rules and regulations at any time by posting the changes throughout the community.

Roomate Agreement

Communication:

The first step to making sure you get along with your roommates is setting up communication methods. First giving your roommates your phone number so that you can easily reach each other. Second is being comfortable talking too and discussing things with your roommate are key!

Guest Policy:

Cleaning:

Cleaning is a key part of living together, so making sure you are all on the same page about cleaning is a big part of the roommate agreement. Determining how clean the common areas and bathrooms should be is very important. Taking out any trash (and boxes) is another big part of making sure your room stays clean, and makes sure you don’t end up arguing with your roommates.

The Roommate agreement also covers guest policy. And coming to an agreement about guests coming over to the unit is a good idea. Determining when and how long guests can come over and stay for, determining what things in the unit guests can use are both two things that need to be hashed out.

Noise:

Another big thing that can become an issue when you have roommates is noise. So making sure all of you agree on how loud you all can be during what times is key to making sure you don’t have any issues

Sharing:

Boundaries:

While not explicitly on the roommate agreement, making sure to set boundaries and respect them is vital in ensuring you don’t get into any roommate conflicts. So make sure to bring up anything you might have an issue with and try to set up ways around that to make sure you all get along!

Determining what in the unit will be shared is another thing you all should discuss and set up. some examples of what to share can be: Cleaning Products such as lysol or toilet cleaner. If you are in a kitchen unit, determining what in the kitchen can be shared is important; such as can your roommates use your pans and pots. Any food stored in the unit is also something to bring up. And determining where personal belongings should be kept is key as well!

Balance work life

Balancing school, work and personal life can be tough, but once done can make life a lot easier, so lets see what tips we can give you!

Creating a Schedule:

Creating a schedule of your week, or even day, and ensuring that your days are scheduled with both time for studying, and time for relaxing, is a great first step!

Learn some efficient tricks:

Certain things that you need done can sometimes be forgotten about, such as cleaning or doing laundry. Thus finding tricks on when to do these things are key. Such as before you sit down to study, start your laundry, and use that as a timer for studying.

Create a designated space:

While it may seem weird, studying and relaxing in the same space can sometimes be detrimental to your stress. So make sure to study, and relax in separate spaces, CampusOne's study spaces are a great place to study so that you can keep your room as your own space!

And above all: Don’t neglect your health, both mental and physical.

Here’s some tips for making sure your health stays up!

Eating properly

It may be tough to get the hang of at first, but setting up and sticking to a diet will greatly help your body stay in top shape.

Exercise

Even if it is as simple as a 15 jog on the treadmill, making sure you get some active time during the each day can greatly help your bodies overall health.

Relax!

Taking a short walk or spending some time meditating, are some great ways to allow your mind to relax and recuperate, reducing stress.

Socialize!

Humans are innately social, and while its okay not be extroverted all the time, making sure to talk with friends or family will greatly help your stress levels!
