25 Years of Marriage and seven children keep Jackie busy With two boys and five girls to her marriage credit and a husband that not only puts up with her crazy music endeavours but pushes and encourages her through it all...life is pretty good. Her single “Right Now”, captures the joy of her past 25 years and it has been one of her most successful releases to date, and Jackie’s first release to US radio. “I want people to know that persevering in music is very difficult. I work full time as a Physical Therapist and with three kids still at home I spend my evenings and weekends keeping up with their activities and music... still trying hard to take Sunday off as the Lord’s day of rest. Finding balance...now there’s the struggle. I don’t have to move fast, just be consistently moving forward. Perseverance is the key.”

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL JACKIE GUY Jackie Guy is busy with the most important thing being her family with music coming a very close second and a busy career as a Physical Therapist.

2020 marks ten years since Jackie Guy’s return to music and what a ride it’s been! With Five Saskatchewan Country Music nominations to her credit and the completion of three full-length albums of original country music, it’s been a busy but successful ten years. Her latest album, I Did It Anyway (February 2019) pays tribute to the man who started her on the path to a career in music, her father. “This album was the most difficult of my three albums to complete with the passing of my father halfway through its writing and recording. High emotions always seem to create the most heartfelt lyrics so I feel it’s some of my strongest work yet.” “Life seems to present so many challenges to everyone, and whether it’s health, money or spiritual struggles, music serves as an outlet for getting through the tough times. It seems I’ve written a song for every

3

occasion. Whether good or bad, I’ve written about it and it’s all there wrapped up in the brand new album. I think the title totally speaks for itself and the title track, yet to be released, will be a song that every entrepreneur will connect with.” One thing that sets Jackie apart from other artists is her videos. “I’m not into hiring actors for my videos because I want it to hold great memories for me. I want friends and family to be the focus because that’s what it’s all about,” she says. This October, Jackie will release “A Lot Like Me” to radio and film an accompanying music video in support of the single. With a booked radio and performance tour set for Tennessee, Jackie looks forward to where her music will take her next. Follow Jackie’s travels at www.jackieguy.com and on her social media channels @jackieguymusic.

MATT MORSON Matt Morson is a country boy with a rock and roll edge Coming from a small town in rural Ontario, Matt inherited his passion for country music from his parents and used his love for music as a way to express his inner art. As the years went on, he became a singer, songwriter and starting recording his own material. This is where he started to work with various music festivals, assisting in production and general event logistics. As he continues to grow as an aspiring artist he is going to keep releasing his music Over time, Matt grew a desire to perform and eventually landed himself a chance to perform on stage. Morson’s charismatic presence and ability to connect with audience is what’s led him to several notable performances since the start of

his career. In 2017, Matt dropped his first video for “Girl on the Bar”, which generated over 10,000 views in just under a week. Matt’s second video “Wanted Man” has garnered over 40,000 views on YouTube in under four weeks.

Morson has also garnered almost 3 million media impressions with his last release and been featured in over 15 news outlets across Canada including live performances on Ontario’s top breakfast shows.

Matt Morson describing his idea behind writing this song. The song was an idea I had after a break up years ago. I was not invested anymore and I felt as though it was better we went our separate ways. So I wrote this song from the perspective of either. Describing that we enjoyed the time we had together and that it will always be with us. Not to be upset that it stopped, rather thankful that it happened. To keep those memories and grow with the moments. To me the song is relatable to anyone who has had this experience. Most of us have had it. Life goes on though

Andrew Frelick"Heads Up"

Heads Up is a mid tempo, break-up song! Co-written by Andrew Frelick & Doug Folkins, this upbeat, aggressive, modern country/pop crossover single will have listeners singing along and grooving in their seats by the song's end. Dynamic and determined are just two words that can best describe country artist, Andrew Frelick! Born in Halifax, NS and having grown up in the nearby town of Bridgewater, Andrew is rapidly building momentum as an award winning Independent Canadian Country Music Artist. Rising in popularity, largely in part from 3 successful Nashville recorded EPs, Frelick's performances have included Cavendish Beach Music Festival (Cavendish, PE), The Josie Music Awards (Nashville, TN), Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge (Nashville, TN); as well as; opening for country stars Corb Lund, Aaron Pritchett and Carroll Baker. In September 2017, Andrew connected with Nashville producer Scott Harter after releasing two previous Nashville recorded EP's "Time Stands Still" & " When I Was Little". Ready to take the next step in his musical career , a new EP produced by Harter was just that step. The first radio single, "Live To Love You", was released and did not disappoint. A co-write by J. Michael Harter, Trey Matthews, & Earl Bud Lee (Friends In Low Places co-write for Garth Brooks), the single from Frelick's newest recording, "Lost In The Right Direction", quickly became his most successful to date. The follow-up "When All Else Fails" kept listeners attention with a wellwritten co-write from Frelick himself and Campbell River, B.C native Doug Folkins. Now, the 3rd & title track "Lost In The Right Direction" is making Frelick a Canadian household name with regular rotation spins on numerous FM country stations, as well as SiriusXM Country Canada.

PAUL BRANDT'S #NOTINMYCITY TO RECEIVE 2019 SLAIGHT MUSIC HUMANITARIAN AWARD The Canadian Country Music AssociationÂŽ (CCMAÂŽ) Board of Directors is honoured to present the 2019 Slaight Music Humanitarian Award to Paul Brandt for the leaps and bounds he has made in raising awareness and taking action to end child sexual exploitation and sex trafficking in Canada with his #NotInMyCity movement. Given out annually, the Slaight Music Humanitarian Award celebrates a person or organization who has made an outstanding contribution of time and energy in support of humanitarian causes. "Not only is Paul Brandt one of the greatest entertainers in our format and our country, he is an extraordinary humanitarian. Using his platform, he has become a strong voice for those affected by the horrible crimes of child sexual exploitation and sex trafficking in Canada and we are in awe of the change he is creating," said Tracy Martin, CCMA President. "The CCMA is honoured to recognize #NotInMyCity and Paul's remarkable efforts to bring attention to this urgent issue in our country." Founded by Brandt in July 2017, #NotInMyCity serves to educate the public about the realities of human trafficking while also uniting Canadians in the fight to protect some of our most vulnerable citizens. Brandt and collaborative stakeholders recognized that many Canadians were unaware of the staggering facts surrounding trafficking. For example, 93% of Canada's trafficking victims come from Canada and more than 75% of people working in the Canadian sex trade began working as a child. More than a quarter of victims are under the age of 18 and, despite being only four per cent of Canada's population, Indigenous Canadians represent half of all human trafficking victims. Today, #NotInMyCity is a strong, collaborative organization, working with established agencies and groups to raise awareness and take action to combat human trafficking. "Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing crimes in Canada today," said Brandt. "On behalf of the millions of human trafficking victims in the world, I am moved to be receiving the Slaight Music Humanitarian Award recognizing the #NotInMyCity movement. Our Allies have courageously stepped up and chosen to be on the right side of history. We must end the sexual exploitation and sex trafficking of

children for profit occurring in Canada and around the world." CHARLIE MAJOR AND ANYA WILSON ANNOUNCED AS 2019 CANADIAN COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME™ INDUCTEES WILSON TO RECEIVE STAN KLEES BUILDER HONOUR WHILE MAJOR TO BE CELEBRATED AS 2019 ARTIST INDUCTEE

The Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA) is pleased to announce that Charlie Major and Anya Wilson have been selected as the 2019 inductees into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame™. "It was such an incredible honour for me to call both Charlie and Anya and congratulate them on becoming our newest Hall of Fame Inductees," said Tracy Martin, President, CCMA. "It is such a career milestone and I am thrilled that we'll be celebrating both of them at Country Music Week in Calgary." Charlie Major has been at the forefront of the Canadian country music scene since the early 90s when he became the first Canadian artist in history to score six BDS No.1 hits with his debut album, The Other Side, in 1993. Nine more chart-topping hits would follow, leading Major to perform across the world, headlining tours and connecting with his fans at fairs and festivals. More than 25 years later, Major has sold nearly half a million records in Canada alone, winning three JUNO Awards and seven CCMA Awards. The Canadian legend has recorded seven studio albums and has released over twenty singles. His lyrics champion the 'Blue Collar Hero' in a manner that embodies Springsteen and other roots rock legends, but it is in the country music format that Major finds his home. "It is an honour to be inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall Of Fame with so

many of my heroes and mentors like Ian Tyson, Gordon Lightfoot, The Good Brothers, Terry Carisse and Murray McLauchlan to name a few," said Major. "I'm sincerely humbled and look forward to celebrating with everyone in Calgary this September."

Anya Wilson began her music industry career in the U.K. working in publicity and radio promotion, becoming instrumental in the success of such legendary artists as David Bowie and T.Rex. She then moved to Toronto and broke ground as the first independent female radio tracker in Canada. Giving back to Canada's country community has always been a priority for Wilson. She has served on numerous CCMA committees, helped establish a radio presence at the annual CCMA conference and voluntarily became the organization's first publicist. She was also a driving force in the creation of the Country Music Association of Ontario and served as its vice-president for several years. "I couldn't be more pleased and humbled by this honour. I'm so used to operating behind the scenes that it feels equally strange and wonderful to be publicly recognized for my contributions," said Wilson. "Over the years I've had the pleasure of seeing the progress of our industry's infrastructure, resulting in the development of world-class artists." Inductees of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame are chosen annually by a selected Hall of Fame Electors Committee, comprised of over seventy (70) industry peers. The three-stage voting process begins in January of each year. The inductee in the Builder category receives the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame Stan Klees Builder Award, established in recognition of RPM Magazine co-founder, Mr. Stan Klees, and his pioneering efforts in the creation of the CCMA Awards Program. The Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at a private industry event held during Country Music Week in Calgary, Alberta from September 5-8, 2019. Congratulations to both Charlie and Anya well deserved.
