Campbell Hall is a community of inquiry committed to academic excellence and to the nurturing of decent, loving, and responsible human beings.

As a community of inquiry, Campbell Hall is made up of courageous thinkers who dare to ask bold questions. We believe that this kind of curiosity is the foundation for learning and discovery that leads to impactful and adventurous lives.
Our distinctive teaching and learning model is grounded in research-based practices. Through various modalities, differentiated instruction, small-group work, and scaffolded curricula, the academic growth of every student is supported.
We emphasize connecting students to a larger sense of purpose by building a strong spiritual and moral foundation. This is essential to our approach to teaching and all we do at Campbell Hall, because when students feel supported, they are at their best—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Campbell Hall is also a place where students can learn more about themselves. Through our diverse range of programs, courses, and activities, students can explore their talents, discover new interests, and develop a deeper sense of identity, all while building lifelong friendships.
These are just a few of the things that set Campbell Hall apart. The remaining pages tell a bit more of our story and may even help you picture your family here. We look forward to getting to know you!
THE REV. CANON JULIAN BULL HEAD OF SCHOOL

Campbell Hall’s unique academic philosophy rests on the idea of spiritually integrated inquiry and community. Joyful, purposeful learning and deep relationships with others lead our students to understand the wonder of something greater than themselves. Our faculty design rigorous, meaningful, and relevant experiences that promote curiosity, engagement, connection, and self-reflection. We value depth and breadth of content, the mastery of essential skills, and the internal motivation necessary for a life of intellectual curiosity. Courageous conversations cultivate the inclusion of diverse viewpoints, and ethical reasoning guides student agency. Student choice and individualized feedback motivate problem solving and risk-taking. Students in our care apply each discipline to realworld challenges and use their experiences as a path for justice. Each child comes to recognize who they are and what they value.
As a community of inquiry, we understand that questions don’t just lead to answers; they can lead to deeper meaning. Campbell Hall helps students develop a growth mindset by empowering them to ask essential questions, take risks, and contemplate outcomes—because that’s what a great education is all about.
Each student’s curiosity is ignited and matched by a sequential, challenging, and engaging curriculum that is carefully designed to prepare them for each level of their educational journey. Taught by world-class faculty, instruction is differentiated to meet the needs of each learner, and important skills of collaboration and problem solving are fostered through cross-curricular, multidisciplinary projects and presentations.
CH teachers are among the top in their fields. They are passionate about their subjects and continually engage in professional development to incorporate pedagogical advances into the classroom.

Our elementary school schedule rotates through a five-day cycle, allowing students to explore a wide array of academic subjects and areas of interest and providing them with an exceptional educational foundation. Every day is filled with hands-on activities, collaborative projects, and immersive learning experiences.

Grounded in culturally responsive pedagogy, the curriculum fosters an appreciation for the diversity of the Spanish-speaking world. Direct Spanish language instruction happens weekly for grades 3 and 4, while those in grades 5 and 6 have Spanish language instruction twice a week.
As a driver of innovation, STEAM is an integral part of a Campbell Hall education. Students develop foundational process skills that empower them to formulate challenging questions, solve complex problems, and connect innovative (“what if”) and scientific (“let’s find out”) thinking with the creative medium of the arts. Through the elementary technology and science labs, students can engage in hands-on learning that is fundamental to developing critical thinking skills. The elementary school visual arts, music, and dance studios offer students opportunities to explore and integrate practices across disciplines, igniting their imagination as they apply their unique perspectives to creative projects and build skills and techniques.

The elementary school uses the Social Justice Standards (Identity, Diversity, Justice, and Action) as a roadmap for anti-bias education. Through these standards, students learn to express pride, confidence, and healthy selfesteem while affirming the value and dignity of other people.
Recognizing the creativity, ingenuity, and innovation within our community, combined with a deep commitment to nurturing caring global citizens, Campbell Hall established a system for incubating and launching missiondriven projects and programs. The IDEA Center gives K–12 students agency and support to actualize enterprises that tackle current challenges and make a difference in the lives of others. The IDEA Center empowers individuals to become change-makers.
Responding to research and the needs of our students, Campbell Hall’s K–6 human development program offers age-appropriate health education and provides spaces for open and honest discussions. This early start helps build foundational social-emotional skills and health knowledge, laying the groundwork for more advanced discussions in upper grades. SPECIALIST
The elementary school program serves to meet the developmental needs of all students by strengthening students’ emotional intelligence skills with a particular focus on mindfulness, selfawareness, emotional management, responsible decision-making, and healthy interpersonal relationships.

Play is at the heart of childhood, and through play so much is learned. At Campbell Hall, we believe that engaging in a range of activities allows children to develop and grow their interests, talents, and skills, while discovering more about themselves. That’s why, in addition to a healthy amount of time on the playground with friends, students explore a range of other types of play—from playing an instrument in music class to playing a sport to playing a role onstage. Every elementary school student participates in our robust visual and performing arts program, and, with physical education every day, play is integrated into the daily CH experience on every level.

When I think back to Kindergarten, I remember the art easel classes. There was something so freeing about dipping a brush into bright paint and seeing color come alive on the page—no rules, just imagination. That space gave me permission to be bold, curious, and unafraid to create, even if it got messy. Campbell Hall taught me that creativity isn’t just about what you make—it’s about how you see others, how you listen, and how you support them.”

Elementary students proudly showcase their visual arts talent, creativity, and hard work in a range of exhibits.
Visual Arts Displays throughout the year highlight student work across all elementary grade levels.
The Elementary Spring Arts Festival celebrates the creativity of our elementary students with a vibrant visual arts exhibit in addition to a performing arts show.

The Visual Arts department follows a processbased curriculum to guide students toward the use and care of various art materials and the employment of art techniques and skills. In our dedicated Elementary Art Studio, students develop their own creative practice and use their art to engage with the broader community.

Elementary and secondary school students mutually benefit from engaging in meaningful interactions in a nurturing K–12 community. While younger students have role models to inspire them, secondary school students appreciate and grow with a sense of responsibility as campus leaders.

Our caring teachers guide students throughout their educational journey, providing a strong curricular arc as well as continuity of socialemotional development that ensures they are prepared for the next academic stage. Children thrive and gain self-confidence from the longterm relationships formed among students, teachers, and families in this community environment.
Parents and grandparents are also integral and valued members of our community, many of whom choose to take active roles in our Parents’ Association and Grandparents’ Committee. There are countless volunteer opportunities that give
parents and grandparents a chance to make a difference in the life of the school and their child’s or grandchild’s education, while also forging meaningful friendships of their own.
Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day welcomes these special guests to campus for a morning of elementary school performances, speakers, and fun classroom activities. Weekly Parent Meditation Group gatherings include guided meditation sessions followed by discussions on topics that center on everything from managing stress to enhancing connections and communication, and provide a wonderful way to build community with fellow parents.

Campbell Hall’s Parent Education program offers an industry-leading Speaker Series, bringing together parents and other members of the school community with experts in various fields to engage in timely, thought-provoking discussions that inform and enrich our relationships with ourselves and the children in our care. Participants take away important information, a stronger sense of community, and at times, a completely new perspective.

Campbell Hall has created such a nurturing environment for our daughters — one where they’re encouraged to grow as learners and as kind, thoughtful people. We’ve seen our daughters truly flourish academically and discover new interests in art, music, and dance. The teachers lead with heart and have supported their joy of learning every step of the way. The community feels like an extension of our family.”

As a gay, single parent of an 8-year-old, in a family created through transracial adoption, I couldn’t be happier with our experience at Campbell Hall. It’s a place where diversity is truly embraced, and kindness is woven into everything they do. My child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn every day. We’re so grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and inclusive community.”

As a school that celebrates diversity across all social identifiers, including religion, race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, and more, we want every student to feel seen, loved, and supported for the unique individual they are.
These are the core values of our school’s mission, the principles of DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice) at Campbell Hall, and the fabric of what makes our community so special. Through inclusive curricula and chapel programs, affinity organizations, and teaching practices that encourage students to honor and express themselves, we affirm the identity, dignity, worth, and belonging of every member of our community.
Beginning in third grade, Campbell Hall offers affinity groups where students can connect with those who share similar identities or lived experiences. Examples include the Rainbow Club, an all-inclusive group
for students who support and advocate for LGBTQ+ issues and identity, as well as spaces for students who identify as AAPI, Armenian, Black, Jewish, and Latinx, and an affinity group for girls.
In addition, K–12 families are welcome to join any of the family affinity organizations where members can affirm their identities, hold joyful celebrations, and build community. There are currently eight family affinity organizations, with an open invitation to the community to create additional groups based on interest.
Throughout the K–12 journey, Campbell Hall promotes allyship and advocacy, fostering a sense of solidarity within the community.

Campbell Hall is a school of faith and reason rooted in the rich tradition of Episcopal education, which means we place spiritual development at the heart of all we do. We welcome people of all faiths, and the religious identification of our student body reflects a diverse range of traditions.
Chapel takes place MondayThursday, during which we gather to hear stories from the world’s various religious faiths and traditions, sing songs, enjoy student performances, listen to guest speakers, celebrate birthdays and milestones, and so much more. Chapel is a warm and loving way to start the day, helping students deepen their understanding of different belief systems, strengthen their values of respect for self and others, and develop authentic community connections. Parents are always welcome to attend!
In addition to our chapel program, the Nathanson-Swiger Chapel and Spiritual Center is a community space used for prayer or quiet reflection as well as mindfulness classes and Parent Meditation Group gatherings.

In chapel we learn how to be kind and good. I think without chapel and all the positive energy at Campbell Hall, I wouldn’t be the same person I am today because having someone in the morning teaching you valuable lessons can make your day and life better.”
— SOPHIE (6TH GRADE STUDENT)
At Campbell Hall, service to others is an integral part of who we are—giving back is one way we put our values into action.

At each grade level in elementary school, students participate in meaningful outreach efforts that support nonprofit organizations. These include food collection for a local pantry, toy and book drives to benefit vulnerable children, and the annual Outreach Gift Fair, which raises funds for causes that elementary school students care deeply about.
Student Council is another great way for students to take an active role in the community while gaining valuable leadership skills, learning how to work collaboratively, and advocating for others.
Beginning in fourth grade, Campbell Hall’s experiential education program connects what students learn in the classroom to the world as they explore nature, deepen relationships with classmates, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Sustainability is a top priority for Campbell Hall. Our commitment to the environment is reflected in student-led environmental clubs, campus initiatives like native plant landscaping and electric vehicle charging stations, and our custom-designed CH Sustainability Plan. Elementary school students spend time in our very own garden, learning to plant, weed, and cultivate produce as they develop an appreciation for nature. When possible, the harvested produce is donated to MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity), a local nonprofit organization committed to providing essential support to vulnerable individuals and families in the community.

Situated on 15 beautifully and sustainably landscaped acres, Campbell Hall’s peaceful campus and state-of-the-art facilities serve as a backdrop for inspired learning.
In addition to separate classroom buildings for the elementary school, there are dedicated spaces for our youngest students, including the W. M. Keck Foundation Elementary Science Lab, technology lab, dance studio, music room, art studio, and gym. Our abundantly resourced library equips students with the tools they need to access and interpret information. And, with plenty of open spaces, courtyards, and greenery that encourage the community to spend time outdoors, our campus is the perfect place for students to grow.
With the completion of The Holiday Center, Campbell Hall will undergo a significant campus transformation. The Holiday Center facility will feature a new gym with seating for more than 800, a healthy-eating dining hall, green central commons, additional classrooms, a new elementary music room, a new elementary dance studio, and so much more!
The newly opened Viking Tennis Center, featuring five championshiplevel courts, reflects Campbell Hall’s dedication to athletic excellence.

Students learn best when their social and emotional needs are met. Whether reading a book with a Pal, planting seedlings in the elementary school garden, or sharing feelings during Council Practice, Campbell Hall elementary school students create strong connections with peers and teachers that allow them to be known, supported, and loved.
The elementary school playground is like a neighborhood community, where elementary students of all ages gather before and after school to run and play. Campbell Hall’s childcare and after-school programs offer more opportunities for students across grade levels to meet up in spaces where they share mutual interests in athletics, dance, instrumental music, acting, chess, engineering, robotics, mindfulness, and more.
Morning childcare is available at no cost, and afternoon childcare, offered for a fee, includes a supervised homework center for students in grades 3–6.
Sixth graders matriculate to Campbell Hall Middle School without needing to reapply so they can focus their entire elementary school experience on joyful learning. No admissions tests, no interviews, no stress.

The Pals Program connects kindergartners with 6th graders and 1st graders with 5th graders for fun activities scheduled throughout the school year. Younger students benefit from having strong, positive role models, and older students develop a sense of responsibility and leadership.
