But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no touch them.
In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of others they were punished, their hope is full of immortality.
Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them.
Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones, and he watches over his elect.
Testament | Romans. 14:7-9,10-12
For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
Why, then, do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat th contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is wr
‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’
So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.”
beloved matriarch, prayer warrior, and peacemaker, passed away peacefully from natural causes in New Rochelle, NY, on Thursday, November 21, 2024. She was 86 years old.
Born on March 26, 1938, in Chardonnieres, Haiti, Louzane was the cherished daughter of Adele and Celbert Adme. At the age of 16, Louzane moved to Port-au-Prince with hopes of becoming a nun. Her plans changed when she met the love of her life, Gerard Amazan. They married in 1957 and began their family, raising three boys in Haiti before migrating to the United States in 1962, where they were blessed with two more children, a son and a daughter.
Gerard sent his sister in love Lovita Charles to American and a few years later Louzane move to American to join force with Lovita, together they built the Haitian community here in New Rochelle. Louzane worked tirelessly throughout her life, first in Haiti at a nunnery and later in the U.S. as a dedicated nanny and housekeeper for the Pierce, Becker, and Walker families. Her compassion and care extended beyond her professional life, as she tirelessly supported her family in the U S and Haiti, often assisting in sustaining four households financially.
A devout woman of faith, Louzane’s favorite place was her church. She was known for hosting annual bus trips to Graymoor for St. Anthony Day and to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa for the Polish Festival. Her gardening skills were unparalleled, earning her the reputation of having the greenest thumb in her community.
Louzane was more than a mother to her own children, she was a mother to all. Her cooking, strict discipline, and open heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She brought joy through her love of hosting Haitian parties, promoting events, and even running one of the best adult soccer leagues in Westchester County
Despite being fluent in speaking Creole, Louzane was never taught how to read or write it, as all her schooling was conducted in French. Determined to overcome this later in life, she joined a group of women in her community to take classes, proudly earning a degree in reading and writing Creole. This accomplishment exemplified her resilience and lifelong commitment to learning.
Her family remembers her as a strict but loving woman who adored her family, loved to cook, hated dusting, and always prioritized peace and unity. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was attending church or visiting Foxwoods Casino.
Louzane is survived by her devoted children: Michel Amazan and his wife, Rose Marie Amazan, Gerald Amazan and his wife, Tsahai Amazan, Rony Amazan and his wife, Beverly Amazan, and Anne Marie Johnson and her husband Joseph Johnson as well as her “son-in- love,” Keith Armstrong. "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
But
love will last forever!"
