Small Groups

All Considered

Freedom to Explore

Cover: Lake Bled, Slovenia by Jaka Skrlep Above: Cappadocia, Türkiye by Dennis Bunnik

We looooove to travel. Yeah, seriously, that much. So much so we started Bunnik Tours. And put our name to it. To take people who love it as much as us, On the type of tours, With small groups, Just enough guidance, And freedom to explore. That we’d want to go on ourselves. (And we do.)

IT’S WHO YOU GO WITH

See more, spend less. If you’re booking two tours back-to-back with us, we’ll knock $200pp off your second tour. Because who doesn’t love a good deal on double the fun?

Loyalty Discount

Once you’ve travelled with us, you’re family. After your first Bunnik Tours booking, you’ll receive $100pp off each of your next two tours. Then, from your fourth tour onward, enjoy $250pp off every small group tour.

Bunnik Bucks

Back home from one of our small group tours but already dreaming of your next adventure? Purchase a $400pp Bunnik Bucks voucher to use on your next tour, and we’ll throw in an extra discount of up to $300pp. How good does that sound for beating the post-holiday blues?

IT’S WHO YOU GO WITH

Our family’s love for travel goes way back. In fact, we’re so passionate about travel that in 1995, we started Bunnik Tours. Fast forward three decades, and we’re still doing what we love: designing intimate travel experiences that dig deep into the heart of each destination, forging the kind of memories you’ll carry with you for a lifetime.

So go on, kick your feet back and leave the planning to us. We’ll take care of all the nitty-gritty details so you can focus on soaking up the magic — because if you’re only going to travel somewhere once, we make it count. After all, it’s not just about where you go, it’s who you go with.

‟TRAVEL ISN’T JUST A BUSINESS TO US — IT’S OUR NAME, OUR PASSION AND OUR LEGACY”
Marion, Sacha and Dennis Bunnik

SMALL GROUPS

Life’s too short to spend it waiting around. That’s why our tours are limited to no more than 20 travellers, creating an intimate experience suited to what you actually want to see and do. Less time waiting, more time exploring — just the way travel should be.

Less Waiting Around

In small groups, you get to the good stuff faster. From getting on and off the coach, to hotel check-ins, comfort stops and meals — everything is easier, so we can show you more of what you came to see.

More Time with Your Guide

Our tour guides are know-it-all’s which is actually a good thing. Travelling in a small group means more time to learn from experienced guides who are eager to share their passion for their country. In other words, more opportunities to discover the secrets that only the locals know about.

More Space on the Coach

On a Bunnik Tour, everyone gets a window seat. That’s right. We keep our group sizes small but our coaches spacious, so you’ll always find plenty of extra seats to stretch out in comfort.

Better Views

Full coaches often mean your holiday snaps feature the back of someone’s head. When the coach isn’t full, you’ll spend less time scrambling for a better view and more time soaking up the scenery.

More Great Memories

The only thing we love more than travel, is doing it together. Small groups provide more meaningful connections between like-minded travellers and the people, culture and places we visit. It really is ‘who’ you go with that makes all the difference.

More Accommodation Choice

Big groups are limited to large, and often impersonal, hotels. Travelling in smaller groups gives us greater choice when it comes to where you rest your head at night, including small, character-filled stays that are off-limits to large groups. We choose our hotels based on location, character and their ability to add to your holiday experience.

More Time to Explore

Staying in centrally located accommodation means stepping straight into the pulse of local life. Whether you’re strolling along the iconic Las Ramblas in Barcelona or indulging in a scoop of gelato on your way back to the hotel, we put you right in the heart of the action — allowing you to truly connect with the culture that’s shaped your destination, rather than wasting time caught up in traffic.

Flexibility

Small groups are more flexible, so we can change the itinerary around to suit the local conditions. Even if it’s off the beaten track, we’re always down for a detour.

Get Off the Tourist Trail

For logistical reasons, large groups rarely stray from the typical tourist trail. With a smaller group, we can venture to lesser-travelled areas, visiting local villages and taking part in authentic cultural experiences.

Be a Responsible Tourist

Small groups are low-impact and don’t spoil the very place you’ve come to see. By not being limited to large hotels and restaurants, we are able to better support the communities who are sharing their world with us.

ALL CONSIDERED

Leave the details to us. We’ve put everything you’ve ever wanted to see and do (plus a few hidden gems) into our small group tours. No hidden extras or cheeky costs: the price you pay is the price you pay. That includes accommodation, special experiences and everything in-between.

No Hidden Extras

Our tours include all sightseeing, return international airfares on our Classic Tours, and even taxes and tips where it is customary. All you need to worry about is having the time of your life.

Tipping Made Easy

Tipping is expected in many of the countries we visit and often makes up a large portion of people’s wages, so it’s important to get it right. But you don’t need to worry about that. It’s included in the cost of your tour.

Character Accommodation

From staying in one of Matera’s ancient Sassi Cave dwellings to a night spent under the stars in a deluxe tent nestled in the Sahara Desert, if it’s worth the experience, we’ll have it included as part of your tour.

Tromsø, Norway by Dennis Bunnik
Trullo in Alberobello, Italy by Silvia Schweininger

Meals

Breakfast is included daily on tour, along with group welcome and farewell dinners. We’ll also include some special culinary experiences as we explore. But as fellow travellers ourselves, we know how important it is to take your taste buds on tour, so you’ll have the freedom to eat like a local and try whatever catches your eye too.

Special Experiences

As a family of travellers at heart, for us it’s not just about clocking up countries or as simple as leading you to a destination. Of course we’ll show you the iconic attractions, but our tours dig a little deeper, including the types of cultural experiences you can’t do on your own or with a large group.

Multi-Night Stays

Why stay one night when you can stay two? Our itineraries include multi-night stops to give you more time to take in your surroundings. It’s all about finding the balance between squeezing every bit of fun out of your time away and remembering to hit pause, relax and just be in holiday mode.

Transportation

Anybody can give you a coach tour. But there’s nothing like winding through the volcanic landscapes of the Aeolian Islands by hydrofoil or riding a scenic cable car up the slopes of the Matterhorn. We like to mix it up when it comes to getting around, so you can experience your destination from a new perspective.

Valencia, Spain by Ann McCormack
Pottery
Studio in Cappadocia, Türkiye by Dennis Bunnik

FREEDOM TO EXPLORE

The memories that come from spontaneous exploration are something no tour group can mimic. So we don’t. Our tours are personal, immersive and blend just the right balance of guidance with the freedom to explore.

We plan most of your day, but not all of it

Having a guide is good and ours are the best in the business. But sometimes, you need to break free. On a Bunnik Tour, you’ll have plenty of time to do your own thing.

Take a little detour

If there’s something you want to see or do that’s not on the itinerary, no sweat. You can use these gaps to tick them off your bucket list. We also offer optional excursions based on special-interest activities which we know don’t always appeal to everyone, so you’ll have the freedom to take part or go your own way.

Enjoy the moment

For many travellers, a Bunnik Tour can be their first taste of a dream destination. From exploring centuries-old streets to sipping spritz in the afternoon sun, we give you the freedom to make every moment count.

We’re passionate about creating tours that are filled with incredible experiences you might not be able to have on your own, or in a larger group. However, that does mean aspects of our itineraries can be challenging for some travellers.

A Bunnik Tour is perfect for independently minded travellers with good levels of mobility. While we don’t put specific age limits on our tours, we do impose a firm policy on the level of fitness required by all our clients to ensure your safety and the safety of other travellers.

Because of this, we reserve the right to refuse bookings if we feel that the requirements of the tour are too demanding.

HOW TO BOOK

We’ll help you every step of the way, but it pays to be organised ahead of time. Here’s what to look out for.

Deposit & Payments

To confirm your booking, we require a non-refundable deposit. We will then arrange a number of progress payments to make along the way. See our website for full details.

Travel Insurance

You will need to arrange your own travel insurance. It’s compulsory for every tour, as we’d hate for something to happen to you and you’re not covered.

Passport & Visas

We can help you obtain any required travel visas, but it’s important to note that they can take time to arrange.

Travel Documents

Your travel documents, including itineraries and hotel lists, are prepared approximately three weeks before you commence your tour.
