Small Groups

All Considered

Freedom to Explore

We looooove to travel. Yeah, seriously, that much. So much so we started Bunnik Tours. And put our name to it. To take people who love it as much as us, On the type of tours, With small groups, Just enough guidance, And freedom to explore. That we’d want to go on ourselves. (And we do.)

IT’S WHO YOU GO WITH

Back-to-Back Discount

See more, spend less. If you’re booking two tours back-to-back with us, we’ll knock $200pp off your second tour. Because who doesn’t love a good deal on double the fun?

Loyalty Discount

Once you’ve travelled with us, you’re family. After your first Bunnik Tours booking, you’ll receive $100pp off each of your next two tours. Then, from your fourth tour onward, enjoy $250pp off every small group tour.

Back home from one of our small group tours but already dreaming of your next adventure? Purchase a $400pp Bunnik Bucks voucher to use on your next tour, and we’ll throw in an extra discount of up to $300pp. How good does that sound for beating the post-holiday blues?

IT’S WHO YOU GO WITH

Our family’s love for travel goes way back. In fact, we’re so passionate about travel that in 1995, we started Bunnik Tours. Fast forward three decades, and we’re still doing what we love: designing intimate travel experiences that dig deep into the heart of each destination, forging the kind of memories you’ll carry with you for a lifetime.

So go on, kick your feet back and leave the planning to us. We’ll take care of all the nitty-gritty details so you can focus on soaking up the magic — because if you’re only going to travel somewhere once, we make it count. After all, it’s not just about where you go, it’s who you go with.

SMALL GROUPS

Life’s too short to spend it waiting around. That’s why our tours are limited to no more than 12 travellers, creating an intimate experience suited to what you actually want to see and do. Less time waiting, more time exploring — just the way travel should be.

Less Waiting Around

In small groups, you get to the good stuff faster. From getting on and off the vehicles, to accommodation check-ins, comfort stops and meals — everything is easier, so we can show you more of what you came to see.

More Time with Your Guide

Our tour guides are know-it-all’s which is actually a good thing. Travelling in a small group means more time to learn from experienced guides who are eager to share their passion for their country. In other words, more opportunities to discover the secrets that only the locals know about.

More Seating Space

On a Bunnik Tour, everyone gets a window seat. That’s right. We keep our group size to a maximum of 12, so you’ll always have plenty of room to stretch out in comfort, with front-row views of Africa’s breathtaking wildlife and stunning landscapes.

Better Views

Full vehicles often mean your holiday snaps feature the back of people’s heads. When the vehicle isn’t full, you’ll spend less time scrambling for a better view and more time soaking up the scenery.

More Great Memories

The only thing we love more than travel, is doing it together. Small groups provide more meaningful connections between like-minded travellers and the people, culture and places we visit. It really is ‘who’ you go with that makes all the difference.

More Accommodation Choice

Small groups mean special stays that reflect the region’s warmth and character. Across Africa, we handpick lodges, chalet-style accommodation, and tented camps that showcase the very best of local hospitality. Each stay enhances your journey, bringing you closer to the soul of Africa — far beyond the standard chain hotels.

More Time to Explore

What’s the best way to truly experience Africa? By exploring it like a local — and there’s no better way to do that than in a small group. Our itineraries are thoughtfully paced to limit long travel days where possible, giving you more time to connect with local communities, witness breathtaking landscapes and immerse yourself in the heart of Africa.

Flexibility

Small groups are more flexible, so we can change the itinerary around to suit the local conditions. Even if it’s off the beaten track, we’re always down for a detour.

Get Off the Tourist Trail

For logistical reasons, large groups rarely stray from the typical tourist trail. With a smaller group, we can venture to lesser-travelled areas, visiting local villages and taking part in authentic cultural experiences.

Be a Responsible Tourist

Small groups are low-impact and don’t spoil the very place you’ve come to see. By not being limited to large hotels and restaurants, we are able to better support the communities who are sharing their world with us.

ALL CONSIDERED

Leave the details to us. We’ve put everything you’ve ever wanted to see and do (plus a few hidden gems) into our small group tours. No hidden extras or cheeky costs: the price you pay is the price you pay. That includes accommodation, special experiences and everything in-between.

No Hidden Extras

Our tours include all sightseeing, return international airfares on our Classic Tours, and even taxes and tips where it is customary. All you need to worry about is having the time of your life.

Tipping Made Easy

Tipping is expected in many of the countries we visit and often makes up a large portion of people’s wages, so it’s important to get it right. But you don’t need to worry about that. It’s included in the cost of your tour.

Character Accommodation

From the historic Kruger Shalati ‘Train on the Bridge’ lodge to panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli and authentic tented camps in the heart of the Maasai Mara, if it’s a remarkable experience, we’ll include it in your tour.

Meals

Breakfast is included daily on tour, along with group welcome and farewell dinners. We’ll also include some special culinary experiences as we explore. From a Swahili cooking class in the Maasai Mara to wine tasting at Glen Carlou and sundowners on Elim Dune, we’ll take your taste buds on a journey through Africa.

Special Experiences

As a family of travellers at heart, for us it’s not just about clocking up countries or as simple as leading you to a destination. Of course we’ll show you the iconic attractions, but our tours dig a little deeper, including the types of cultural experiences you can’t do on your own or with a large group.

Multi-Night Stays

Why stay one night when you can stay two? Our itineraries include multi-night stops to give you more time to take in your surroundings. It’s all about finding the balance between squeezing every bit of fun out of your time away and remembering to hit pause, relax and just be in holiday mode.

Transportation

While many companies can take you to Africa, we believe in offering journeys that immerse you in its essence. From thrilling 4WD safaris, serene river cruises and a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta. These experiences provide you with intimate perspectives of Africa’s landscapes and wildlife, ensuring your adventure is as unique as the continent itself.

Permits

We’ve included all national park entrances and permits in your tour, so there’s no paperwork to handle and no surprises along the way. Just more time to enjoy the experience and take in every unforgettable moment.

FREEDOM TO EXPLORE

The memories that come from spontaneous exploration are something no tour group can mimic. So we don’t. Our tours are personal, immersive and blend just the right balance of guidance with the freedom to explore.

We plan most of your day, but not all of it

Having a guide is good and ours are the best in the business. But sometimes, you need to break free. On a Bunnik Tour, you’ll have plenty of time to do your own thing.

Take a little detour

If there’s something you want to see or do that’s not on the itinerary, no sweat. You can use these gaps to tick them off your bucket list. We also offer optional excursions based on special-interest activities which we know don’t always appeal to everyone, so you’ll have the freedom to take part or go your own way.

Enjoy the moment

For many travellers, a Bunnik Tour is their first taste of a dream destination. From a Serengeti balloon safari to the sound and light show at Philae Temple in Egypt, we give you the freedom to make every moment count.

A DAY ON SAFARI

Wake up to golden light spilling across the plains, coffee in hand, watching elephants lumber by and lions retreat to their dens as the African bush slowly comes alive around you. Have your camera and binoculars ready!

With expert guides at the wheel of our 4WDs, we’ll set out early into the savannah, tracking big cats on the move, spotting curious giraffes reaching for treetops and distant herds of zebra grazing in the background. As the day heats up, we’ll return to the lodge for some down time, perhaps a quiet lunch, a nap in the shade, or a cooling swim. When the sun begins to dip, we’ll head out again, watching the landscape glow, birds settle for the night and perhaps catch sight of a sly predator slipping through the grass. Every moment feels spontaneous and magical, yet thoughtfully planned. That’s the rhythm and magic of a day on safari.

FITNESS TO TRAVEL

From trekking across the dunes of Sossusvlei to exploring the lush jungles of Madagascar, Africa’s landscapes call for both awe and energy. We want you to enjoy every step of your journey, not struggle through it. Let’s work together to find the perfect tour that suits your fitness level.

We’re passionate about creating tours that are filled with incredible experiences you might not be able to have on your own, or in a larger group. However, that does mean aspects of our itineraries can be challenging for some travellers.

A Bunnik Tour is perfect for independently minded travellers with good levels of mobility. While we don’t put specific age limits on our tours, we do impose a firm policy on the level of fitness required by all our clients to ensure your safety and the safety of other travellers.

Because of this, we reserve the right to refuse bookings if we feel that the requirements of the tour are too demanding.

Visit bunniktours.com.au/let-s-talk-fitness
