Southlqnd Building Over $2 gillion

Southern California edged toward a possible new 1956 building record as figures last month revealed that new construction in the Southland in the year's first nine months exceeded $2,000,000,000. The city of Los Angeles also sighted a new high.

Building permits were $1,119,994,?85 f"or 79 Southland cities, and $562,655,100 for the nine unin'corporated areas, in the 9-months period. Industrial construction w?S onother $275,000,000. Los Angeles' $ff,7,563.,129 in the period was a gain of $37,87,885 over the same 1955 period.
