The Woodwork Institute of California staged its northern annual Membership meeting at the Mark Hopkins hotel in San Francisco, October 3, with W.LC. President W. Perry Acuff, Westen.r Lumber Co., San Diego, presiding, and Hogan Wholesale's Bob Hogan chairmanning the meet. Nlore than 50 W.I.C. members attended the annual conference, which featurecl a luucheot.t, a general business session, and three excellent talks, by W. P. Fuller III, the American Trust Company's lv\rilliam A. Nlarcus and General Plyrt'oocl's I-loycl Dimondall first-class speakers and experts on tl.reir topics.
Ofrfrcially, the couferetrce got utrclerway at 11:15 a.m. with registrations on the N,lark's nlezzanine. After signing in, the membership gatherecl in the Argonaut room for cocktails, ar-rcl then on to the Golden Empire roon.r for the general session luncheon and afternoon program.
After introductions and a short business session, Chairman Hogan introduced the first speaker, W. P. Fuller III, vice-president of W. P. Fuller and Cc-r., rvho put on a presentation entitled "The Golden \A'est." Fuller's wellfounded enthusiasm ancl faith in the future growth of the West, and California in particular, r,vas highly contagious, and judging from the big ovation he received at the conclusion of his talk, it was apparent that everyone present had come clown witl-r the same enjoyable malady.
