He forecast a I00 percent increase "at least" in plywood demand by 1975, and said the nation's housing needs are estimated at 65 million units over the next 25 years, "substantially above the 2 million a year market we see immediately ahead."

WCLA Heod Denies Chorges

West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau has asked the U. S. District Court to let it file a petition in the West Coast Lumbermen's Association case in which a consent decree was issued by the court with agreemcnt of WCLA and the DePartment of Justice in 19,41. WCLIB was not a party to that action since it was not in cxistence at that time.

"Any charges of conspiracy or implications of wrong-doing or of violations of the consent decree by WCLA or by any o{ the indir iduals, associations, or companies named are categorically denied," according to Nils B. Hult, Hult Lumber and Ply' **d Co-puny o{ Junction City, Oregon, president of the WCLA. "These charges will be vigorously contested, and I am confident that they will be {ound to be without any basis in fact," Hult stated.

WCLIts also asks for certain modifications of the Western Pinc Association (now Vestern Vood Products Association) consent decree which was entered in a separate action in 1941 in the same court. WCI-IB also was not a party to that action.

The activities o{ WWPA affected bv the consent decree of WPA have been discussed with the Department of Justice and full information concerning these activities have been furnished to that department. New Cr-P Distribution Center

Georgia-Pacific-the "growth company" lived up to the slogan again with the opening of a new hardwood and specialty lumber distribution center in the City of In. dustry, near f,os Angeles.

The new branch is G-P's 94th building materials center, accordirig to Harold E. Sand, G-P vice president in charge of the building materials distribution division.

Hardwood and specialty lumber such as cypress, redwood, oalq walnut, maple and others will be handled exclusively by the center. It will serve building materials dealers in the area and other G-P distribution centers in the Western regton.

It has a sales office and five ,[800 sq. ft. lumber storege sheds, a total area under cover of 24,000 sq. ft.

Branch manager Walter L. Ralston, Jr., who came west from G-P's Augustq Ga. plant to supervise the opening of the center, liked the area so well he asked to stay.

Yuasa Trading Co. (America), Inc., has cloeed its San Francisco offices at 100 California St. and has joined its New York City office at 40 Wall Street, company officials announced.

Forest Products Advieors Nqmed

Four new members have been named to the technical advisory council of the University of California Forest Products Laboratory.

Appointed were E. E. Archibald of Georgia-Pacific Corporation; Howard Blagen of American Forest Products Corporation; Kenneth O: Smith of lVillits Redwood Products Company, and Thornton Snider of Snider Lumber Products Company.
