Bob Swanson of the treated lumber department, Pope & Talbot, Inc., San Francisco, took a vacation trip up the Coast as far as Vancouver. B.C, William Gordley, former mill superintend- ent of the Hobbs Wall Redwood mill at Crescent City, Calif., is now plant superin- tendent at Hobbs Wall Lumber Co., San Francisco.

R. C. (Bob) Dixon left San Francisco for New York, where he will be district manager for Union Lumber Co.

llenry M. Hink became president of San Diego Lumber Co., San Diego, in Septernber, succeeding the late J. M. Carson. l{r. II. C. McGahey was elected vice-president to succeed Mr. Hink.

LeRoy II. Stanton, E. J. Stanton & Son, Los Angeles, attended the annual convention of the National Hardwood Lumbel Assoc. at Atlanta, Ga. He will spend a few weeks calling on the trade in the Soul,h, East and Middle West.

L. C. Hammond, president of Hammoncl Lumber Co., and lllrs. Hammond returned recently from a vacation trip to Missouia, Mont.

A. S. Murphy, president of The Pacific Lumber Co., accompanied by Herb Klass, Gus Hoover, Ed Yoder, Bill Nelson, Bill Dorsey, Fred Christian and party of friends left Scotia on a deer hunting trip in Humboldt County.

W. E. Davis, Stockton, salesman for Pope & Talbot, Inc., in Sacramento and San Joaquin VaIIeys, was married to Miss Lillian Workman in Stockton on Sentember I.J.

A. W. (Andy) Donovan, Southern California representative of Hobbs Wall Lumber Co., San Francisco, was a recent visitor to the San Francisco Bay district.

M. Marvin Smith has been appointed assistant manager of the Hayward Lumber & Investment Company's yard at Yuma, Ariz. Lester Stone is manag'er of the yard.

L. S. Harris has been appointed manager of the Valley Building and Supply Co. at Hemet, Calif., succeeding Lester Weingarden who recently resigned. Mr. Harris was formerly with the Dill Lumber Co. at Palm Springs.
