R. D. "Bud" Lowrey will manage the new Norton Lumber Co. yard at Rogue River, Ore. It is the fourth yard to be opened by Red Norton.

Yaughn L. Pipes of Building Material Distributors, Inc. in Stockton, attended the Armstrong Cork Company's 1964-65 wholesaler policy committee semi-annual meeting at the company's general offices in Lancaster, Pa., during July.

Bill Moore of Kelly-Moore Paint Company has just returned from a two months 'round the world trip. Kelly-Moore purchased the old Pacific Coast Co. yards a few years back and now operate yards at San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara.

Ralph Hardin" sales representative for Weyerhaeuser Co. of Tacorna, is one of 12 men in his firm appointed to a newly created wood products marketing advisory panel. Purpose of the panel is to gauge the efectiveness of various new marketing and merchandising activities being planned for wood building materials lines.

Norm Rose has replaced Ralph Bishop as manag'er of Georgia-Pacific's San Jose warehouse. Norm, with Georgia-Pacific in southern 'California rrecently, first opened the San Jose branch which weathered a devastating fire to become one of G-P's finest California outlets,

Bob Gaylord, of Fir & Fine L'umber Company, and his wife, Dolores, guested friends for a few days aboard their yawl "Kahlua." He reported that fishing was excellent by Catalina Island.

Bill Smith, prorninent Los Angeles lumber executive and president of Angelus Hardwood Company, seen basking in Tahiti during the latter part of August and first parb of September.

Dale Shafier, factory representative for Saranac Industrles of Benton Ifarbor, Michigan, a recent visitor in the Los Angeles area on business and pleasure.

Andy Vazquez, Artesia Door executive, his wife Evelyn and his mother and aunt drove to New York and the fair. Following the U.S.A. tour his two relatives returned to Spain and Evelyn and Andy with daughters Libby and Sandy came home through Canada and the Pacific northwest.

Walter Ruth and wife Charlotte completed a vacation and business trip to Oregon and Washington. Walt called on lumber and plywood mills for Artesia Door Cbmpany and they both got in a few games of golf, swimming and lazing.

Bob Nunnally, salesman at Fir & Pine Lumber Company, just returned from a two weeks' vacation as a guest of the Federal Government. Bob is finishing up his stint in the Air Force Reserve.

Art Reeveg ofhce manager at Fir & Pine Lumber Company, is spending a relaxing holiday at Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. He reports fishing is great and Liz appeared to be in very good shape.

Jack Finnegan, Wholes,ale Forest Products sales exec., his wife, Betty and their children, Mary, Mike and Billy have returned from an extended vacation in the Pacific northwest.

Ray Yan Ide, Pasadena wholesaler and wife Jane spent most of September in the Jackson Hole area of Wyoming. They also called on mill operators in Washington, Oregon and California.

MacBeath Hardwood's Bill MacBeath has just returned to Berkeley headquarters after calling on suppliers in Japan, Manila, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Hugh Pessner, West Coast Timber hoducts, flew East to join his vacationing family in Long Island last month.

Lee Mansueti was recently named manager of Cal-Ida Lumber Company's retail yard in Auburn.

Willy Neuman and his son Wolfgang, owners of the leading retail lumber firm of Hugo Maass of West Berlin will pass through Los Angeles this month on a tour of the United States. The son worked for more than ,a year at General Lumber & Supply in Los Angeles, learning the business under the sharp guidance of headman Hans Wall before joining his father.

Eddie Gavotto, who cut his teeth in the lumber business in San Diego, was installed as "Snark" of the San Diego Hoo-Hoo Club on September 5. Eddie has worked up in Hoo-IIoo and has been active in lumber afrairs for several years.

Van De Nor Lumber Company salesmanager Dave Davis, and his Dottie' spent two weeks last month vacationing at Lake Tahoe.

Dick Harmer of Cal-Pacific Redwood and his family spent a "postmants holiday" vacationing in lYinity County in August.

Bob Wright, R"eid & Wright, Fresno, visited Ilumboldt County suppliers last month.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kudlac, Valley Iarmber Co., Grants Pass, spent a week vacationing along the eoast and visiting friends in Seattle.

John Pedlar recently became manager of Boulevard Lumber Cbmpany, 8332 No. Vancouver Ave., Portland. He was formerly manager of Boulevard Lumber's Gresham, Oregon, branch.

Lew and Gertrude Godard visited relatives and vactioned in Portland during mid August.

Jay Collins, manager of the Mullen Lumber Company retail yard in North Hollywood was injured last month in an automobile accident near Santa Maria. Jay will be in the hogpital for several weeks.

Jim FFaser of Twin Harbors Lumber Company vacationed with the family on Catalina Island last month.

Bill Gilmore is back at his Sunnyvale Lumber Sales yard after a recent bout in the hospital.

Lloyd Wells, old-time southern California millwo,rk operator, ran afoul of Lady Luck and has undergone amputation of a leg. He has been hospitalized for over two months. Friends may find him at Ilawthorne Community Hospital, Hawthorne, Calif.

IIal Payne of Ross Lumber Company, Auburn, is currently in the proeess of building a new 2112 sq. ft. store and offce building to handle an expanded line of merchandise.

Jim Dwan, anchor man at Durable Plywood Sales Company, visited relatives and vacationed in southern California during early August.

Paul Kent, Hollywood wholesaler, and Mrs. Kent have returaed from a world cruise whidr took them to moet evef,y oonntry in the world, except Russia. They were gone for more than six months and used ship, air and a\rto in their travels. Paul will re-establish his wholesale ofrce.

Clint Rygel, Rygel Lumber Sales, Long Beach, and wife Jane, spent a restful vacation at beautiful Tuolme Meadows in northern California.

William Morris, redwood distribution yard operator in Newark, NJ., was a recent visitor to the Bohemian Grwe encampment and called on suppliers in Humboldt County. Morris is well known throughout the Redwood Region as former salesmanager of Union ,Lumber Company.

Elmer Padula of Willits flew into Idaho with friends for a little hunting.

Jack Koepf, Peerless Lumber Co., Oakland, spent a family vacation in Southern Oregon last month.
