Winton lumber Compony Building Plywood Plqnt qt Martell' Cqlif.

The Winton Lumber Company, Martell, California, broke ground August 6 for the construction of a plywood plant. This plant will produce Douglas fir and western softwood plywood. It is estimated that the plant will be completed late in the spring or summer of 1959. This is one more move by the company to better use the resources of the forest in a broader and more intense way and, at the same time, to develop a wider list of forest products to serve the company's customers.

The plant is being designed, built and will be managed by Jack Rushton, former superintendent of the plywood division of the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company at Longview, Washington. In this work he is being assisted by Merle Dodd, who formerly aided in the planning and de- signing of the U. S. Plywood Company plant at Roseburg, Oregon.

Rosenbeny Steps Down ot Winton

The directors of Winton Lumber Company announced August 7 with great regret that John M. Rosenberry is leaving the organization after 26 years of service. Rosenberry had been manager of the company's Idaho operation, executive vice-president and director of Winton Lumber Company, and president of Winton Lumber Sales Company (Calif.). His leaving was called a significant loss.

For a number of years Tohn Rosenberrv had wanted to develop his own activity bul continued under persuasion and a sense of duty to Winton Lumber Company. The directorsownersemployes of the Winton Lumber Company wished him success in something he has wanted to undertake for some time. He will continue to act as a director and vice-president of Winton Lumber Company.
