John H. Ifauberg, Jr., of Seattle was elected a director of Weyerhaeuser Timber Company at a recent meeting of the company's board of directors in Tacoma to filI a vacancy created by the death of F. W. Reimers of Hammond, Louisiana. The new director is a Seattle businessman, president of the Pacific Denkmann Company and former president of Potlatch Yards, Inc. He is a director of Dimock Gould and Company, Rock Island Millwork Company, and the Equity Fund, Inc., of Seattle. He is also a graduate forester.
$chlage Lock Company, San Francisco, may transfer its operation to Downey, Calif., declared Board Chairman Charles Kendrick, Aug. 21, but added it would maintain fficg headquarters in the Bay city. Schlage has just bought the California Lock Co. in Downey and alreadv transferied some machinery there.

Portland, Ore.-September 10 is the deadline for approval of the proposed merger of Ames Harris Neville Co., San Francisco, into Boise Cascade Corp., Boise, Idaho. Directors of both firms have approved the merger and it is to be voted on by shareholders Sept. 2.
The Los Angeles Building and Safety Dept. is conducting an educational program for carpenters through apprentice-training classes on Monday nights at L. A. Technical Trade School, with classes on city building codes and construction work.
Henry M. Snyder recently announced the appointment of Clyde P. Keeler and Associates, Seattle, as manufacturer's representatives for Sani-Top in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. Also appointed was E. E. Gundaker and E. J. Frye, Sacramento, to represent Sani-Top products in Northern California. Their area will include Monterev. Fresno and Mono county.
