The house is conventionally framed with 2" x 4 studs. With the exception of kitchen and bath, which are covered with asphalt tile, the concrete slab is covered with wall to 'rvall carpeting. Finish roofing is colored gravel.

Windorvs are planned to give a pleasing view of the surrounding garden. An 8'x9' bay window for front garden vien' is of stationary glass. It has louvered vents on either side and a 4' overhang. The south wall of the living room, which faces the outdoor living area, is also of stationary glass, except for a sliding glass door and screen at one end of the room and a ventilator casement on the other. The roof line is extended over the large glass areas to help define the outdoor patio as u'ell as to prevent summer sun from leaping into the room.

The living room and den are partially divided by a fireplace and low brick 'rvall. The floor plan affords a comfortable conversational grouping of furniture about the fireplace and permits convenient passage from one room to another rn'ithout having to cross a third. The living room and- bedrooms are clirectly accessible from the entrance area.

The dining area is next to the kitchen breakfast bar, which can be closed off by means of folding doors. The living room features an S-foot long built-in couch with book-shelf side arm. Other built-ins include shelving under the bay rvindow. There are two fixed panels at either end of the bay window; one is suitable for large books, the other contains a radio speaker. A built-in screen, giving extra privacy to the dining area, which forms part of the entrance area, consists of a storage case basing, sideboard and radio-phonograph. The storage unit is topped with an indirect lighting tray that gives a soft illumination to the entrance and dining area.

New Plywood Plcrnt

Vancouver, B. C.-Construction of the Western Plywood Co. veneer plant at Quesnel, British Columbia, commenced in June, John Bene, president, announced in Vancouver. The nerv plant, which will have an area of more than 10,000 square feet, will cost about $180,000.

Western Plywood has arranged for a forest management license in an area about 40 miles north of Quesnel, along both banks of the Fraser River. Company engineers and foresters are norv working on a logging road and camps. First logs from there are expected to reach Quesnel next spring.
