Twin Harbors Sacramento rep., Dick Merritt, and the family, tomed the southland during the end of April, with special attention focused on Disneyland.

Dick Freeman, Top Banana So-Cal Building Materials Co., Los Angeles, and Mrs. Freeman presently on an extended air cruise of Europe, visiting England, France, Italy and all waypoints. The prominent couple is expected to return home the latter part of June.

Ken Conway, South Pasadena lumberman, seen "snooping" around San Diego last month on a combined business and golfing trip. At least that is what he said.

Jim Martindale, manager of Barr Lumber Co., Santa Ana, and Ted Bolte, manager of the firm's Costa Mesa yard, sailed thbir yacht to Mexico in the Ensenada races last month. As we go to press no word has been received as to the success of their effort but in 1960 they placed 6rst in their division, we have been told.

Roy Barto, for many years prominent in southland lumber circles, has sold his home in Potlatch, Washington, and is returning to the land of sunshine. He is sailing his yacht, Bataan, back to its berth in Newport, according to information received at CLM.

SAM WALKER, 44, owner of the Walker Manufacturing Company of El Rio, California, was killed in an auto accident in Oakland on April 12.

Born in North Dakota, Mr. Walker came to California in f 938. He founded the Walker firm, wooden door manufacturers, in 1948. His wife, Cora Mae Walker, associated with him in the business, will continue the operations of the firm.

In addition to the widow, Mr. Walker is survived by four children, Lonnie, John, Carolyn and Peter. The family home is in Ventura.
