qHASTA COt'\TY lumbermen and railU loaders combined their respective lalents staqing a record'shattering fourth annual Shasta Lumbermen's Golf Tourna' ment in Redding, Calii. Bill Wells of the Southern Paci{ic did a masterlul job ol handling the big tourney and banquet which drew nearly 200 lumbermen, in' cluding visitors {rom Los Angeles, Port' land and Wisconsin. The huge success {irmlr establishes the tourney as part of the yearly lumbermen's oopro" circuit in northern California which includes a spring tournament at Grass Valley, Calif., and a summer tourney at Medford.

Repeat winner of this year's tournament was Ralph Lamon who carded a 77 to tie Bud Frank, the cut of the cards going in Ralph's favor for the low gross trophy.

All ilights were run on a handicap sys' tem and Paul Flescher, Ralph Lamon and Bill Main drew first flight honors.

Second {light winners were J. Kelly, DeWitt Smith and Ed O'Kelly and in the third {light it was Dave Green, Don Sams and John Cole in the usual order.

One to three in the Calloway flight were Je.ry llolmquist, Don Clearwater and George Darling and both Pete Murphy anil Sim Chapman scored wins in the long drive division. John Polach and DeWitt Smith both shot sharp golf to win the accuracy contcst.

Nikkel's Quality Forest Products come from the fabulous Feather River Country

Three Nikkel plants producing "Feather" soft pine and "Silver Feather" white fir are located in the Feather River Country. The area is known for its high quality sugar pine, ponderosa pine, and white fir. Photo shows an early settler's cattle shed in Indian Valley in the northeast portion of California's Plumas National Forest. lt's near the site where pioneer Peter Lassen established the first trading post in the area in 1850.
