Hardwoods hit the road

LIARDWOOD beauty on wheels! I I That describes Selectorama Showroom, the slick new mobile exhibit of the Fine Hardwoods-American Walnut Association.

The exhibit demonstrates the unique beauty and appeal ofcharacter marked hardwoods. It was unveiled officially at the International Woodworkine Machinery and Furniture Supply Faii in Louisville, Ky., last month.

After that the association's promotion director, Charles H. "Chuck" White, and executive director Larry Frye, plan to take the exhibit on the road frequently during the remainder of this year and throughout 1979. Ports of call will include furniture and finish manufacturers, design centers and home shows in the Midwest. East

The showroom is housed in a 30' x 8' custom-built, all-weather trailer which can be heated for winter showings and air-conditioned in summer.

The interior, tastefully done by top professional designers, includes draperies, wallpaper, carpeting, wall pictures "and the whole bit," as White puts it.

Featured are a number of furniture pieces, mostly of character marked hardwoods, along with an array of character marked hardwood plywood panels.

Character marked hardwoods. White explains, are those bearing distinctive natural variations not found in clear, so-called perfect grades. Not only are they just as sound and durable as the clear grades but in the opinion of increasingly more consumers they are more interesting and appealing.
