Hardwood Veneer Display

MacBeath Hardwood, Los Angeles, has new display racks for its line of membrane-backed, genuine hardwood veneers. The rack displays 20 rolls of veneer in plastic wrappers beneath a colorful sign. Additional signs are also available to dealers.

Available in 15 different hardwood species, Pliantwood sheets measure 18" x 96" long. Pliantwood can be cut with scissors and applied with contact cement. It bonds to almost any surface, bends around corners, and can be sanded, stained and finished.

MacBeath's racks also display Pliantwood veneer edging, l" x 96" and 2" x 96", in shrink-wrapped packages.

Vinyl Weatherstripping

Ever-Roll Corp. has vinyl weatherstripping for use on all types of exterior swinging doors.

It is designed to help conserve energy year-round and seal out dust and moisture for cleaner interiors. Rigidity and pliability have reportedly been combined in this one-piece extruded weatherstrip. Channels in the rigid portion trap air and the pliable curl seals against both the door and the stop.

Pre-notched for perfect fit, with holes pre-punched for easy installation. Nails are furnished. Each set is individually packed in polyethylene and includes enough material for a 7-foot door.

Variable Deadboltllockset

General Products Co. has been assigned a patent for its special design of a variable deadbolt lock and lockset adaptor assembly that accepts most standard hardware in its Benchmark insulated steel entrance door systems.

This versatile lock preparation concept' solves the problem of various hardware designs with a flexible system of snap-apart filler and cover plates for the latch recess.

Benchmark's universal adaptor adjusts to 1'l or I 118", 3 5i8" or 6" above the passage lockset.

The design provides a solid steel setting for locksets with either 2 318" or 2 314" backset. After the deadbolt crossbore is drilled at the proper location above the lockset, a circular steel support is furnished to house the deadbolt lock.

Benchmark's uniQue hardware adaptor system eliminates the need for excessive inventory, being limited to one or two preparations, orthe expense of custom work. Preparation is builtin for easy on-site completion.

Armco has a new line of small metal buildings for construction field offices or store rooms.

BH Hoist Co. has a new portable, fully retractable truck-mounted crane for a variety of medium-to-heavy duty lifting applications.

It provides 9' to 27'of working height (33' w/extension) and has a rated capacity to 4,000 lbs. on a 3/4 ton pickup (using load levelers). The all-weather winch has a drum capacity of 8.000 lbs. The ultimate winch line strength is rated at 14,400 lbs.

Up to Splash

Ajax Hardware has Ridgecrest, a medium-priced, fully-coordinated home decorating bath hardware grouping of l5 items.

It has hand+rafted surfaces and simply+tched lines that complement an antique brass finish. Pieces include 24" and 18" towel bars, towel ring, tissue holder, wall-mounted soap dish, toothbrush/tumbler holder, garment hook, drawer pull and knob with backplates and four different sizes of switch and receptacle plates.

Merchandisers include 2' wide freestanding display, or a preprinted, prepunched gondola plan-o-gram made of a sturdy sheet of styrene.

Attic Vent Display

Leslie-Locke, has a new ventilation display that provides a strong focal point for a complete energy savings center.

It can demonstrate as many as six power attic ventilators and winddrive turbines, along with intake vents. Each shows a different ap- plication along with ease of do-it-your- self iristallation. Several boxed units may be displayed below for consumer pickup.

Siding Unit Wrap

Boise Cascade has a super-strong, color-coded siding unit wrap, to help cut costly yard loss and simplify handling and shipping, the firm claims.

It is made of extra heavyduty polyurethane and applied in a new type of heat tunnel, to shrinkwrap right over each unit. Result: a tighter fitting wrap, unit after unit, for less damage from wind, less loss from rain or snow, and less worry about extremes in heat or cold.

It is color-coded, with each of six insulite hardboard sidings coming in its own color wrap, all sides clearly labeled.

Keep On Truckin'

Eaton Corp. has a new "M" Series Yale super heavyweight industrial trucks with 25,000 lb. capacities and a short wheel base.

They have a short turning radius and a 105" wheel base frame.

It has an Allison single+peed powershift transmission, ll' of lift height and 48" long forks which are hammer-forged from heat-treated alloy steel. Hydrostatic actuated, full hydraulic power steering is standard.

Here Chick, Chick.

Rubbermaid is offering 5% of.f. on bird feeders in a seasonal stocking offei for orders postmarked through October 31. New fall colors are offered.

A new sturdy display is designed to merchandise two bird feeder assortments. One assortment includes a total of 30 feeders in all five styles, the otfier has 24 lantern style feeders. The display has a woodgrain styled background and full-color header sign. Suggested retail prices for the bird feeders range from $5.95 to $11.95.

In another program, Rubbermaid's organizers, with normal suggested retail prices of $3.98 each, are being promoted at the suggested price of $3.18 each. This includes the clean-up caddy, wrap and bag organizer, broom and mop holder and the ironing organizer. Other promotions are also offered.

Wood Preservative

Ventron Corp. has Ventron Cunilate, an antimicrobial agent for the pressure treatment preservation of wood that will contact humans. animals or harvested crops.

It is a copper 8-quinolinolate-based preservative that protects wood to be used above ground level where mold, mildew and wood-rotting can be a problem and other well known preservations cannot be used because oftheir nature. It conforms with AWPA Standard C2947 and is covered by Environmental Protection Agency Registration Number 2829-14Barrel

Stove Kit

The Barrel Stove Assembly from Enderes Tool Co., reportedly makes it easy and economical to convert any size steel drum into a high capacity wood burning stove. The stove is easily assembled with sheet metal screws or bolts, and no welding is required, according to the company.

The components are constructed from heavy cast gray iron. Each complete kit includes two heavy duty legs, a 6" cast iron stove pipe flange and the complete door assembly including the air draft system.

Available either as a complete kit or as individual components.

Commodore Vanity Co., has a new line of FrostWhite wood grain vanities.

Tops are of swirled gold-and-white cultured marble. Integrated bowl and backsplash come with extra overhang for secure fit. Cabinets are completely assembled and finished inside, with drawers mounted on steel runners. Gold tone drawer pulls and steel selfclosing hinges complete the feel of luxury. Widths from 20" to 37".

Siding Restorers

Aminco Industries has Aminco LLC cleaner and LL-2 clear coating for cleaning and restoring siding on buildings. It has an effective method for renewing the lustrous appearance of aluminum, steel, vinyl and other permanent type siding, according to the firm.

LL-C is a water-based, phosphatefree, non-flammable formulation that is specially designed to remove environmental soils and stains as well as oxidized paints that cause chalking and fading. It is easily applied with Turkish toweling and rinsed with clear water from a garden hose. One gal. cleans approximately 1500 sq. ft. of siding.

LL-2 is a water-based, non-flammable, phosphate-free clear coating for use on a newly cleaned, dry siding surface. Once the siding has been cleaned, an application produces the sparkling bright look of new siding the company claims. It provides ongoing protection from chalking as well as increased resistance to dirt and other soils. It is applied with a soft finish paint pad and applicator, and dries quickly to a durable protective finish.

Flame Test Paneling

Masonite brand Flame Test paneling assemblies have received hourly ratings from Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc. In tests conducted on wall systems of Ul-specified thickness and construction, they received two 1-hour ratings and two 2-hour ratings.

Hourly ratings, as specified in the UL Fire Resistance Directory, refer to the amount of time it takes for flame and smoke to penetrate a wall system of studs, gypsum and paneling.

Because of its surface burning characteristics, it is ideal for hospitals, schools, restaurants and other buildings where fire code specifications are a concern. It is offered in six different design patterns.

Light New

Quietlite International has a H.I.D. (high intensity discharge) mercury lamp together with a totally new concept in ballast design, the company claims.

The lightweight, solid state, mercury vapor, ballast is totally silent. The 175-watt unit weighs only 33 ounces. Service life of the ballast converter is approximately twenty years.

The lamp has been engineered for technical compatability with the ballast converter and has a rated service life of up to 24,000 hours as compared to an ilcandescent bulb life of 750 hours.

This new system permits fast, easy conversion within one minute, from existing incandescent indoor lighting, and reduces energy requirements up to 60 percent, according to the firm,

Cement Finisher Brushes

Lightweight construction and adjustable metal handle sockets are features built into a new line of cement finisher brushes that reportedly reduce operator fatigue.

Brush blocks are made of extrarugged yet weight-saving plywood (which makes these units up to 5O% lighter than conventional cement finisher brushes the company says). Each is filled with three rows of black nylon bristles. Each brush also has a metal handle socket, which quickly adjusts to proper angle for maximum job efficiency and worker comfort.
