Hans \[all, who once owned and operated the two biggest retail lumber yards in Berlin, Germany before World War II and later owned and operated a successfirl retail operation in Los Angeles, Calif., has died after a year long illness. He was ?5.

He was born in Tuchel, West Prussia, on May 26, 1892. His father, like his son after him, was a lumberman and Mr. \Mall first worked for his father.

In 1910 he made his first trip to America, working for a lumber company in New York. In 1912 his father's illness forced his return to Germany to take over the business. He ran the business, a retail operation and sawmill with his brother Martin until 1938 when he moved to Los Angeles and established General Lumber and Supply. He had married his wife, Felicitas, in 1928.

His son, Robert, who worked with Mr. Wall for twelve years before Mr. \[all's death, May 8, 196?, had run the operation for the past year. I{e is continuing operation of the yard.
