E.R. "Tope" Knauf, Louisiana-Pacific Intermountain div. gen. mgr., is replacing Phil E. Nell who plans to retire as gen. mgr. of the Coastal div., Samoa. Ca. Sherman E. Kirchmeier, gen. mgr. of the Sierra div., will replace Knauf at the Intermountain div., Coeur d'Alene, Id. He will be succeeded as Sierra div. gen. mgr.

W.D. Page has been promoted to the post of v.p., industry affairs at the American Plyrvood Association. Dr. John Emery has assumed respon- sibility for environmental issues: George Sleet is the new gen. mgr. of APA's Plywood Research Foundation.

Sam Garofalo has been promoted to sales mgr, of DE Doors, Inc., South El Monte, Ca,, from outside sales, according to Paul Wheeler.

Hardwood lmporters' 25th

Imported Hardwood Products Association pres. is Sam M. Nickey, III, Nickey Brothers, Inc., Memphis Tn., following election at the 25th anniversary celebration convention at Boca Raton, Fl., recently.

J.D. Prince, Plywood Panels, Inc., New Orleans, La., was named senior v.p., and Ken O'Neil, DG Pacific, Portland. Or., was reelected treas.

Legislative achievements by the association were highlighted by Keister Evans, executive v.p. Participation in meetings of the Southeast Asia Lumber Producers Association also were reviewed as well as a recent industry tour to Brazil to establish contact with organizations exporting forest products.
