Yeqr's Best Porty
CHRISTMAS came a little early for 30 v boys and girls from the San Francisco Boys Club, but ifit hadn't been for the warm support of the firms listed elsewhere on this page there simply wouldn't have been a 'oChristmas" at all.
Following lunch, Club 9 put on a two act kiddies show for the youngsters and, of course, the Santa Claus finale. Although we took a number of shots of the kids getting their presents, the Editors of toThe Merchant" were unanimous in selecting the tiny Miss seen on this page holding onto her very big present for dear life. That one picture pretty well sums up the "why" of Club 9's annual children's benefit.
Sponsors who made the party possi, ble were:
Aborgine Lumber, Arcata Redwood, Bayshore Lumber, Alfred D. Bell, Billings Pacif ic Lumber, G. R. Bleeker, Bonnell Lumber, Bonnington Lumber, E. S. Brush & Sons, The Merchant Magazine, Cal. Sugar & Western Pine, Crestwood Lumber, Golonial Lumber, Robert Dollar Co., R. H. Emmerson & Son, Emprise Lumber, Georgia-Pacific Corp., Golden Gate Lumber, Harbor Lumbel J. E. WlllE-EYElt IHANKFULNESS expressed by this youngster (l) explains why we feel San Francisco Hoo-Hoo Club's annual Christmas party was just a cut or two above most holiday functions. With the exception of one bright young lad who asked Santa for a "used Thunderbird," all of the kids got exactly what they asked for. (? 0ther party-goers included Art Grillo, John Enright and Jim Higgins. (3) And another "kid" got a surprise present too. Club 9 prexy Larry 0wen is shown here presenting bronze
Dlaque mounted on redwood burl to "Mr, Redwood" himielf. Lew Goddard of Hobbs Wall Lumber Com' oanv. A consistent Club 9 worker, Lewie has been bctive in San Francisco club affairs practically back to the davs when the "Merchant' first published Volume 1,-Number l. (4) Ray Ryan and Higgins val' levman Georse Lone. (5) Lela Cook, IHPA's Charlie sihmitt. Gor-don Salnders and Frank Timmers. (6) Frank 6illings and Ellie Koch, and thank you for coming Paul Mc0usker!
