This year in Art lessons the students have created many interesting things. The students have used famous artwork to create different modern versions of the artwork. They also created a letter with Zentangle patterns inside and outside gaining the understanding of the zen effect. They learned a lot of exciting information about art movements and artists. All students did creative work and had a fabulous learning experience with drawing, painting, printing and sculpture.

This year in Design lessons we have had a lot of fun exploring and understanding design. With creating trailers for books and our own board games and worked on the city of the future with Tinkercad creating a 3-D model. The students all really enjoyed this year’s program in Design class and learned a lot of new skills and knowledge about design.

MYP2 Visual Arts

"This year, MYP2 has made so much progress with their artistic skills. We have discovered many styles and techniques to enhance our drawing abilities. During our time learning with Mr. Davidson, we have learned styles such as Zentangles and Vanitas. Both of these were relaxing and fun tasks because it gave us the freedom to draw our own themes with the new skills we learned such as drawing, shading to create realism and understanding famous artist’s work. We had a lot of fun doing these tasks and we can't wait to do this again next year."

MYP3 Visual Arts

This year in Art with Ms. Thomas and Mr. Davidson, We learned about the Colour theory and created Optical Illusions. We also visited Victor Vasarely Museum for Research and inspiration for our final piece. We created Zen tangles and they were very relaxing and fun and everyone enjoyed creating the work. We learned about different types of fonts and patterns of zen tangles. In the Zen tangles unit we had a choice between creating a letter or animal with Zen tangle patterns and my spider web looked great- By Jyoti S.

Miss. Warlop's Visual Art Class taught us a lot about how we should paint, about what subject we should paint, and how to paint those pictures in many different creative ways, and how to paint them. Also, during her class, she did a lot of creative and realistic activities such as taking us to museums, and it certainly impressed us. So we were able to concentrate on the class, and we were able to make the class cool and clear, what we needed to do. Thanks to this, we were able to unfold our imagination and help us express what we want to draw well.

MYP2 Design

In design MYP2 students improved a lot on designing and thinking creatively. The projects we had throughout the year were designing a tiny house, creating a stop motion video and creating a digital escape room. In all of these projects all MYP2 students had fun with creative mind sets. The main focus of design was to make students use out of the box thinking skills. Although the projects were individual tasks, students worked collaboratively in helping each during the creating process. In design we had a lot of fun exploring a wide variety of materials with the design tasks.

MYP3 Design

Over the course of the year, we’ve done everything from making gifs to making games; This year has been full of very eventful units, and we’ve learned plenty of useful technological skills that we’ll definitely make great use of in the future. We also learned a lot about the creative process; developing ideas, and solving problems when they arise during each project. The BBIS Mascot unit was a lot of fun.

The microbit unit was my personal favourite, as I love coding, and making games, and it’s fun to learn how the programming language works.

MYP 4 Design

In the colourful realm of design class, our creativity sprouted wings and soared like mischievous hummingbirds. From sketching bizarre creatures to crafting mind-bending installations, we embarked on an adventurous journey through the wild landscapes of imagination. Like a pack of curious squirrels, we scurried around the class, seeking inspiration in every nook and cranny. Who could forget the epic glue gun battles or the joyous chaos of paint splatters that turned us into walking canvases? With scissors as our swords and pixels as our playground, we fearlessly conquered design challenges, leaving behind a trail of unforgettable memories and masterpieces that danced like fireflies in our hearts.

MYP1 Physical and Health Education

“We have had a great year in PHE. All students have worked extremely hard to transition into the MYP. Their conceptual understanding and ability to apply various skills and movement patterns have come a long way. They have experienced planning for performance through leadership and reflecting on their performance. We have looked at the Olympics, both ancient and modern-day, Nutrition and yoga, to name a few units. The fruity fitness bars stick out in my mind. Students learn about nutrition and then apply this by creating their own energy or protein bar. We have so many successful bars coming into school for a taste test. It was amazing. Thank you must go to the parents for buying the product. I look forward to seeing further progress next year.” Mr Wheatley

In PHE we always learn about really interesting and sometimes funny things. We learned how to do the fruity fitness bars and learned about calories. We also learned about bones and about their movements. We also learned about muscles and how they work. We also learned about sponsors and how much they earn or give. We created a presentation about sponsoring a footballer and giving her money and clothes to wear.

Here are some works, presentations and documents that worked on Physical health and education:
