Students began the week travelling to Slovakia where they stayed in a picturesque Penzion next to the High Tatra Mountains. The week was jam packed with activities from visiting an important time in history at Auschwitz to rafting down a river that divided Slovakia and Poland. Students challenged themselves this week as they hiked up to a viewpoint in Zdiar and took a thrill seeking slide down afterwards. They also relaxed at a local waterpark and took some time to decompress after a busy year full of the usual academic demands of upper school students. The group were given an opportunity to discover Zakopane and buy local produce as a memento of their trip from cheeses to chopping boards and in the evening they enjoyed a delightful campfire, marshmallows and card games where the students had great fun trying to beat each other and the teachers at Kemps and Mafia. Finally, the week ended with the students favourite event where again they had a thrill seeking experience of GoKarting where Sasha, Akos and Berci competed for the fastest lap! Well done students, it was a great trip and your teachers were extremely impressed with you all!

Thailand Trip

In May this year, the MYP 4, 5 and DP students travelled to the Phang Nga region of Thailand to participate in green sea turtle conservation. They had the opportunity to care for baby turtles, sleep in a floating hotel, go bamboo rafting and eat endless amounts of Thai food. The focus of the week was on ethical tourism, Thai culture and adventure.
