MYP 3A Language and Literature

This year in Language and Literature with Mr. G, we did a lot of fun stuff. We wrote autobiographies and we read the book "I am Malala" to help us write our own autobiographies.

We also read "The Giver" and then we wrote dystopian stories. Then we read and wrote different types of poems. Finally, we did debating. We were debating about should homework be optional or not.

This year in Drama with Mr G, we enhanced our acting skills and for some if not most people, we confronted our fears this year This year in drama we performed 3 times throughout the year in the P.A room to a live audience. We started the year by acting out dramatic scenes in pairs Ranging from scenes from IT to Teen Beach Movie our class rehearsed and performed for the first time in MYP3 In our second unit we wrote, rehearsed, and performed our own play that was based around the life of a Grandfather. We pulled inspiration for our play by taking pictures based around certain words and music We also were introduced to theater based process journals Our final and latest unit was performing monologues, but had a scene partner with us on stage We were challenged with faster deadlines performing essentially on our own and approaching a new type of on-stage performance.
