MYP 2 JG

From Mr. G: MYP 2s have always been my favorite class, even last year when you were MYP 1s. So when I heard I would be your homeroom (tutor) teacher, I was really excited! I am so proud of how far you've gone in the year that I have known you. Maybe we had the highest strikes, and maybe we didn't score very many points on the weekly quizzes, but I honestly enjoyed working with you in Language and Literature, and in Drama class. The growth you all showed despite your personal struggles is commendable. You are all amazing people, and I hope we can stay in contact. I wish you the best for your futures, and know you will all be successful in whatever you choose. You are strong-willed, opinionated, and passionate-- never let anyone tell you to be less. Know that there is always at least one teacher who is rooting for you, who has your back, and who will always support you, even from a distance. I will honesty miss seeing your faces every morning. Good luck to you, and I hope to see you all soon.

Dear MYP2SF,

AS the school year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting and thinking about the past year and what a journey it has been! I just wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation, and say how truly fortunate I feel having you as my tutor group for my first year at BBIS.

From the first day, I have been made to feel welcome, embraced my passion for teaching and learning and shown your enthusiasm for learning! I have loved having you all as my tutor group, and I hope next year I will have you all again. Although you come to the end of MYP2 and this is a sad moment, we must look forward to all the new journeys and new memories that you will make come next academic year! I just hope that I am as big a part of that next year, as I was this year.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your MYP2 experience, as a teacher and a tutor. I will cherish the memories we have made together but I look forward to making new ones in the future! To those moving on, I wish you well wherever you end up!

Wishing you all the best!

Mr. Fleming

From Mark, MYP2SF:

“It has been an amazing year for me. I really enjoyed the time I was here. My favourite memory was when we had the secret Santa activity. And going ice skating. It was just amazing and very fun. To anybody who is leaving, please keep working hard on your goals and never give up. Always have motivation and if you have a goal and somebody is trying to be in your way, just keep pushing forward. My favourite subject was I and S and design this year. I truly enjoyed all the activities that we’ve done. I also enjoyed all the different quizzes on Friday’s, it was very exciting to look forward to them!“

From Sev, MYP2SF:

“I enjoyed tutor times, really loved these activities with decoration doors, playing games and doing quizzes and I loved Secret Santa so much, for me, it was the best of all others. I hope next year we will have even cooler tutor time.“

From David,

MYP2SF:

“It was really fun being in this tutor with all my close friends. I really enjoyed all the quizzes we have done and then discovered how wrong we were. Our class was the loudest then. It was fun getting to know everyone and if you are leaving, then have a good life, but if you are staying, then see you next year.”

From Masa, MYP2SF:

“I liked that my friends were in the same homeroom and we talked every morning. We had a lot of fun every morning and they were really happy when I wasn't late and I wore the correct uniform. I actually liked the Friday quizzes, shout out to Mr. Bell.”

From Miriam, MYP2SF:

“I thank this homeroom for always talking and waking me up in the morning even though it was only 8:30 a.m. I know this has been a hard year for us but next year is our last year of middle school and then we’ll be high schoolers. Yay! Hang in there, one more year to go. Thanks Mr Bell and Mr Fleming for keeping up with us. I also enjoyed the democracy in the Homeroom quizzes weekly! ♥ Köszönöm. Hogy birtad amikor nem bírtam megtanulni a verset.”

What a year it has been 3DW/TH. We have seen so many amazing achievements and progress throughout the year. It has been amazing to add Achinoam, Ella, Hlib and William into our family. Seeing all students integrate into the group and make some solid friends has been a pleasure to see. Well done all on your participation in the tutor events. The Friday quiz has been a personal highlight of Mr Wheatley’s - We have really invested time and this effort paid off by winning the lower school Term 3 quiz. Well done.

Christmas Door Decoration – Ella

The Christmas door decoration in our homeroom started off a bit wonky at first, as we didn’t do much to prepare, but then a few days before we finally leaped into action and started brainstorming. We thought of the Grinch as he is a funny and good character that represents Christmas. We also decided that some of us don’t have Christmas in the cold winter with snow and ice so people were quite open about making it a summer theme. We liked that it was inclusive of everyone’s Christmas celebrations, so we decided to put the Grinch on a surfboard surfing with a sunset in the background.

Talking Tuesday - Ema

For our Talking Tuesday each week on a Tuesday we would create a presentation about something that interested us and something that we wanted to spread awareness about. Most of the time the news we choose was negative because currently in the world there are many problems and it is difficult to be able to find something positive. It was an opportunity for us to share things we like so our classmates get to know and understand us better. We would take a vote on who goes each week to make sure that everyone gets a fair chance and make sure that not only the same people go every time.

Friday Quiz - Achinoam

For the whole year every Friday morning we were all excited to do the quiz. During the quizzes everyone from the class got to show their knowledge and strengths, with the cooperation of all the class members we reached some amazing results. Sometimes there were disagreements within the group and we had different opinions about some of the questions, but we voted with understanding and respect from all the members of the group, we chose the answer that suited most of us. At the end of the last term of the year we even won the title of the class that achieved the most points in MYP1, 2 and 3.

The First Day of School - Hlib

The first day of school literally was the day when we were meeting each other for the first time or from the summer holidays. The main goal of the day was to find out more about everyone’s interests and to know more about each other. We managed to achieve this goal through various activities. The first activity that we were doing was to come up with the adjective that starts from our first name’s letter and it had to represent ourselves. Another activity was to create the poster with something that represents us, additionally with the birthday date. As a result of the first day of school, we discovered major characteristics, qualities and singularities about everyone individually.

Languages Day

In Languages Day we were all working collaboratively to make a nice homeroom that represents Germany. We made a Canva presentation and also danced a traditional German dance. We also had some food that is from Germany. For example, we had Haribo, Kinder and other candies from Germany. We were going to other people's rooms and doing their quizzes and eating their food. Overall it was a very fun day that I won’t forget.
