Welcome to MYP

This year has seen the MYP in full flow. With the introduction of the IDU week, Service Learning Projects, expedition trips to Thailand and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The drive in student leadership and student-led projects has been excellent to behold across this year. With MYP2 students launching the BBIS Morning Radio, and MYP4 student taking it upon himself to organise an inter-house sporting event.

Growth

This year also saw our MYP5 cohort undertaking the full MYP assessment with many of the student's as MYP Certificate candidates, we look forward to their results in August.

As many of you are aware the school is growing and this has seen many new students enter the MYP here at BBIS and they have integrated extremely well and with the open, caring arms of our student body, they are now fully immersed as part of the BBIS family.

I look forward to seeing how much further the MYP at BBIS can continue to grow and flourish as the students begin to take more ownership and drive in their learning and projects.

Dear student,

As we reach the end of the academic year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible progress you have made. Your dedication, hard work, and perseverance have been truly remarkable. Here is a special message to celebrate your accomplishments:

Achievements to Celebrate: Take pride in how far you have come. Celebrate your academic achievements, both big and small. Remember the challenging assignments you conquered, the tests you prepared for diligently, and the projects you completed with creativity and determination. Each accomplishment is a testament to your growth and potential.

Personal Growth: Beyond academics, reflect on your personal growth throughout the year. Consider the new skills you have developed, the friendships you have forged, and the challenges you have overcome. Recognize the positive changes you have made in your character, mind-set, and approach to learning.

Resilience and Perseverance: This year, you encountered obstacles and faced setbacks, but you never gave up. Your resilience and determination to overcome challenges have been truly inspiring. Remember that setbacks are opportunities for growth, and your ability to bounce back stronger is a testament to your character.

Learning Moments: Reflect on the moments of insight and understanding that have shaped your learning journey. Think about the moments when a concept finally clicked, the times when you asked insightful questions, and the connections you made between different subjects. Embrace the joy of learning and carry that curiosity with you into the future.

Collaboration and Connection: This year, you have collaborated with your classmates, shared ideas, and learned from each other, especially in the Talking Tuesday where you shared your personal interest to your peers. Cherish the bonds you have formed and the teamwork skills you have developed. Remember that learning is often a collective effort, and together, you have achieved great things.

Future Growth: As you move on to the next academic year, carry the lessons and experiences from MYP1 with you. Build upon your strengths, continue to seek challenges, and set new goals for the future. Remember that growth is a continuous process, and each year presents new opportunities for learning and development.

I am incredibly proud of all of you as individuals and your achievements this year, and I feel honoured to have been a part of your journey. To our wonderful leavers Alexia (Lexi), Ian and Ihno (Ethen), continue to embrace the joy of learning, stay curious, and remain dedicated to your goals. Remember that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to and all of us will miss you dearly.

To returning students, I wish you a restful and rejuvenating break, and return with renewed enthusiasm for the exciting challenges that lie ahead. Congratulations on a fantastic year everyone, and I look forward to seeing your continued growth and success in the coming years.
