Thank you for being such a blessing to me and my family. I was so nervous to come to a pantry, I have had very bad experiences in the past when I had to use a pantry. You guys are so welcoming and understanding. Words can not express how much it means to me and my family. If we need help we can come to you guys without feeling judged or shamed. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much!

Sincerely, Sarah and family

Help & Hope Center provides emergency assistance to Douglas and Elbert County residents in financial distress, helping them navigate troublesome times with dignity.

Help & Hope Center is a non-profit human service organization dedicated to providing assistance to people in Douglas and Elbert counties who are in serious economic need, at risk of homelessness, or in a similar crisis. We address immediate needs by consistently providing food and other necessities for homeless, low income, and financially fragile in our community.

Together, we’ll help over 30,000 people this year by providing emergency assistance in Douglas and Elbert Counties.

We are an organization of and for our community, with our roots dating to 1981, in a garage called “Mela’s Pantry.” One of our very first volunteers still works with us to this day. Over the years, we’ve adapted and expanded to help the most disadvantaged meet hardship with dignity. Our lifeblood continues to be the generosity of our volunteers and countless donors who make it possible for us to continue amplifying our reach, serving the growing needs of our neighbors year after year. From financial contributions, to gifts of essential items for our clients, and volunteering with valuable time and skills to our many programs, it’s our community who make it possible for Help & Hope Center to make an impact.
