Brown and Proud Press and MOONROOT have been working through the question of what it means to show up for Black power in this moment. Recognizing that making space for dialogue around anti-Blackness in our non-Black communities of color is a critical component of collectively working towards Black liberation, we decided to utilize our zine collectives, and subsequent next issues, as a material space to continue that dialogue. Our 4th issue, "On Confronting Anti-Blackness in our Communities" contains personal narratives and perspectives from 10 non-Black writers, artists, poets and organizers of color in Chicago on what it means to challenge anti-Blackness within ourselves, our families and our communities. The issue will also be split with MOONROOT's next issue, entitled "Resisting Anti-Blackness in Ourselves & Our Communities", which covers incredible, concrete ways to show up for Black power in our current moment.
