Nicholas Waguespack ’23 was afforded the opportunity to march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Ecko 360, a high-tech company offering aerial photography and video, recently visited campus to provide a flight demonstration of aerial mapping using drone LIDAR systems for our NJROTC cadets and other interested students. Additionally, members of Cleco Power and Entergy, as well as the Public Service Commissioner and former attorney general, attended the operations and spoke about how this technology plays a significant role in accelerating power restoration after major storms and outages. This demonstration goes hand in hand with Brother Martin’s Aerospace Science course, which is the first high school drone certification and training program in Louisiana. Students have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of professional Unmanned Aircraft System operators and prepare for their FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Operations license.

President’s Dinner

The 15th Annual President’s Dinner took place at Commander’s Palace in early April. The evening began with cocktails, passed hors-d’oeuvres, and music provided by a Jazz Trio on the Patio.

Committee Chairman P. Lindsey Williams ’83 welcomed everyone and thanked the committee. Committee member Jodi Williams followed with a prayer. Brother Martin President Greg Rando ’77 gave a brief school update, let everyone know that he would visit each table personally, and recognized special guests including 2023 Alumnus of the Year The Honorable Kurt Engelhardt ’78 and his wife Ann. Guests then enjoyed a delicious four-course meal while sharing the rich camaraderie of the Brother Martin community.

The Brother Martin Wrestling community gathered on December 22 for a Reunion. First, Alumni, families, and friends watched the Crusaders prevail at the 2022 Trey Culotta Invitational in the Conlin Gym. Dr. Van and Ms. Mimi Culotta were in attendance on both days and presented the awards to the medal winners.
