What is art?

Art is a visual object or experience consciously created through an expression of skill or imagination. When you see an art, it’s not the artist’s imaginationit’s your imagination. Art also doesn’t have to be a real situation. It can be abstract, your imagination, etc. Art can be music, painting, sculpture, literature, architecture, performing and film!

Types of artpainting

There are so many types of art including visual art. In visual art like painting, there are different kinds of media like acrylic paint, oil paint, natural paint and watercolour. There are also different surfaces you can paint on such as canvas, cloth, bag and rock using special paint. There are so many tools for painting as well like paintbrushes, pencils, easels, palettes, painting knives, rigger brushes and drop cloths.

History of Art

Amonsgt old art that has been discovered is the "Three Wild Pigs" painted deep in a limestone cave on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi at least 45,500 years ago. More than 65,000 years ago, a Neanderthal reached out and made strokes in red ochre on the wall of a cave and that is the first artist in the world!

agreement between a few countries against animal abuse in the 1970s. The problem was that not many people came on board with the idea, so a new one has been proposed, but the date is yet to come. The new proposal also has a different name: The Universal Declaration of Animal Welfare. This is such a big issue that in 2006, people who did not agree to it would be banned from having pets. Cruelty against animals is an issue that everybody notices, but nobody tries to fix. That is the reason that there is a declaration to make people aware, to make people remember and to make them notice.

Mental and Physical Abuse

First, physical punishment. Using violence for mistakes made is proven to have no effect on animal behaviour. The only consequence of violence is animals showing signs of dehydration, injuries and emotional reactions. Unfortunately, the majority of animals (65%) being abused are dogs.

Surprisingly, wild animals also feel mentally unstable in some scenarios like when locked in cages for people to stare at them daily, not being able to interact with other animals. As well as that, pets like cats and dogs can also get depressed for many reasons and quite often this depression leads to getting mentally sick. Another form of mental abuse is putting them in ‘funny’ clothes and making them do work or making them do unnatural things in circuses and sometimes zoos as that is overworking the animals.

Natural habitats vs artificial habitats

Starting with the natural habitats, it is best for animals to stay in their homes rather than artificial environments. This is because no matter how much conditioning or heating you may put in those places, the animals have adapted to their environment and have learnt how to survive in that area. Moving them can be a both stressful and difficult process.

The artificial habitats are often zoos, circuses and places alike. They can often physically and mentally abuse animals such as elephants, lions, bears and, unbelievably, sometimes also house cats. These places often have large crowds ,which can scare the animals and deeply impact their mental health.

Animal Rescue

Rather than buying or adopting animals from breeders, who can often abuse the animals they sell, a better place can be a shelter. Taking an animal from a shelter can save more than one life as when one is adopted, room is made for another needy animal. Even though these shelters do not keep wild animals like lions and bears, there are other places around the world, like safaris and bear sanctuaries, where all the animals are kept in a good state where they are happy and also healthy.

Pet care

Caring for a pet is not an easy job. Depending on what pet it is, there are a few must-dos. For dogs, it’s walking and feeding them. For cats, it’s cleaning their litter tray and also feeding them. One part of caring for a pet that people often forget about is monthly vet check-ups. Whether the vet comes to you for a checkup or you go there, it is absolutely necessary for pets to be checked regularly. Furthermore, during the summer, cats and dogs should be checked for ticks and need to be brushed as losing their fur can be a major issue for both the owner and the pet.

How can we help?

Many people want to help animals, but don’t know how. Here are some tips on how to help. Going vegan is a very good way to help the environment, farm animals and also yourself. As well as that, to help animals which are abused, you could donate to charities and shelters as you would not believe it but that could be very helpful.
