JOURNEYS @BSB
Students’ experiences at the British School of Bucharest are signi cantly enriched through ‘BSB Journeys’, as students learn best when actively engaged in their learning. These journeys form an essential part of a student’s education, o ering opportunities for broader experiential learning. Through ‘BSB Journeys’, students explore new places and people, build connections with di erent cultures, and develop valuable life skills.

Bucharest, Secondary students take responsibility for their own learning. They participate in out-of-class activities and events, including symposiums and a Work Experience Programme, helping them build a portfolio of out-of-class learning experiences.
RESIDENTIAL TRIPS
Year 2 pupils experience a sleepover on the BSB campus, o ering a perfect transition to the trips in the following years.
Starting in Year 3, Primary students can join overnight trips to various destinations across Romania. These trips enrich classroom learning and provide a more hands-on, real-life learning experience.
INTERNATIONAL TRIPS
Secondary students can partake in local trips within Romania and overseas. The school often organises several trips related to subjects taught, such as Geography, Business Studies, and Drama, to various locations and international festivals.
The cost of residential and international trips is not included in the fees. Information about these trips will be provided via email, along with instructions

reindeer experiences, and, most excitingly, ice driving.
The Arctic Challenge is a distinctive initiative created by Foamblock. The event will be held at Lapland Ice Driving’s outstanding facilities in Arjeplog, Sweden, the European capital of winter test driving. Lapland Ice Driving (LID) provides the necessary infrastructure and logistical support. We have designed this winter trip to encompass three themes: competition, sustainability, and family.
PROJECT ZEPHYR by FOAMBLOCK
The rst step to participating in the Arctic Challenge is building Project Zephyr, which o ers a fully immersive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) experience. BSB students aged 12 and over can join Project Zephyr—the programme developed by Foamblock—and build their electric cars using primarily recyclable materials. Students will receive a complete kit that includes all the hardware components and materials, as well as a self-learning algorithm to help them gain insights during this experience. In addition to engineering, students will also learn about business, law, marketing, teamwork, leadership and nance. The entire project, including logistics, aims to be 100% carbon-neutral.
Participants will face three challenges: Fastest Lap Time, Best Endurance, and Longest Drift. Students will be responsible for the maintenance and proper functioning of their vehicles. If they are incredibly lucky, they may even get to drift under the northern lights.
If students are not participating in Project Zephyr, they can still try out one of the Project Zephyr vehicles featured in the 2024 Arctic Challenge while experiencing the thrill of ice drifting with Lapland Ice Driving. Challenges include Endurance, Speed, Drift, and Carbon Sustainability.
