DAVID BERNSTEIN David resides in Bridgewater with his wife Bonnie and their three children, Marissa, Ross, and Adam, and his dog, Timber, the best dog ever! He is a principal of Mid State Lumber Corp in Branchburg, New Jersey. David has been a member of the JCC since it's inception in 1999 and currently holds the Secretary position on the Board of Directors. He and his family are long standing members of Temple Sholom in Bridgewater. David enjoys golfing, coaching and spending time with his family and friends. He is looking forward to adding ballroom dancing to his list of hobbies and accomplishments.
TOM E. FLYNN “Coach Tom” was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Flatbush. He attended St. Brendans Grammar School and Midwood High School and one year at Johnson & Wales College in Providence, RI. After college, he served as a New York City police officer for 30 years. He retired and met and married Joan E. Clissold from New Jersey. Afterwards, he answered a newspaper ad for a swim coach position at the Bridgewater JCC. His wife regularly uses the exercise programs at the “J.” Coach has also done some lifeguarding at the J besides coaching the kids. Coach Flynn began his dancing career at the JCC when he and his wife took a ballroom dancing class in August 2010. Now they are both big fans of the popular TV show “Dancing with the Stars.” His steady dance partner is the bridge – his wife Joan. Coach Flynn’s motto is: “If you want to see the rainbow you have to put up with the rain.”
MARSHA CHAZIN A native of Chester County Pennsylvania, Marsha Chazin began her dancing career as a child, enjoying tap and ballet. She graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in education, and subsequently taught elementary school for over 20 years and Hebrew school for many. Marsha and her husband, Mark, have three married children and six grandchildren, ranging in age from 1 to 14. Marsha and Mark have been members of the JCC since it opened. Marsha enjoys taking physical fitness classes, particularly Zumba. She also was a volunteer in the JCC kindergarten class as a guest reader and helper. Elsewhere in the community, Marsha participates with Jewish Family Service, in the women's division of Federation, and has been a volunteer for New Jersey's Court-Appointed Special Advocate program for children in foster care. Marsha cooks and serves at the SHIP soup kitchen in Somerville once a month. She also performed outreach to incarcerated Jewish women. Since dancing as a child, Marsha has taken lessons in jazz and ballet. She taught Jackie Sorenson aerobic dance at the West Windsor Adult School. Marsha is a dance enthusiast, and enjoys watching all kinds of dancing, particularly as an avid fan of the televised “Dancing with the Stars”. Marsha says her performance tonight allows her to check off an item high on her bucket list.
