The Schweiger Memorial Scholarship Fund provides annual scholarships through a growing endowment fund, to applicants wishing to pursue educational excellence in construction and construction-related fields. Since 1999, 300 scholarships valued at more than $1 million have been awarded.

To date, the Home Building Foundation has given more than $300,000 in college scholarships for students interested in residential home building careers. It administers two scholarships on OSAC, oregonstudentaid.org. The James Irvine Scholarship is for statewide students pursuing degrees in architecture, construction, engineering, interior design/ architecture or landscape architecture at Oregon colleges. 3.0 GPA recommended. Must be enrolled at least part-time. Students can compete annually for renewal. The Gary E. Milgard Scholarship is for students from Clackamas, Columbia, Multnomah, Washington or Yamhill counties. It targets students pursuing degrees in architecture, construction, engineering, interior design/architecture or landscape architecture. It is for students attending public and nonprofit colleges with a preference for Oregon schools. 3.0 GPA recommended. Must

be enrolled at least part-time. The scholarship is automatically renewable if criteria is met.

The Oregon Promise is a state grant that helps cover tuition costs at any Oregon community college for recent high school graduates and GED test graduates. Students must apply during their senior year or immediately after GED test completion. Students may be subject to eligibility requirements.
