“THE STAYING POWER OF REDEFINED BUSINESS INNOVATION.

Architecture that truly impresses is usually in some way formidable; we can't say anything less about the T.W.A. Hotel are that of royal esteem. The hotel that initially held space as a Flight Center until 2001, was saved from demolition, and landmarked by the state of New York , to the National Register of Historic Places, 2005 . Now repurposed, we can only conclude why the landmark has held up for so long, not necessarily from the argument of structure; we can give that to the building's O.G. Architect, Eero Saarinen . However, more so in culture, in respectability, in honor, in time. When considering the Flight Center in its fullness, the hotel itself has only been in operation for a sum of five years. –– Yet, it's brand is still so classic, that one could assume it's been around for ages, so we suspect it must be something deeper, something more concrete. Then we thought about what allows business infrastructures to go that extra mile and what gives brands that competitive edge to last through the years.––Nevertheless, shape flight culture in the way the T.W.A. brand has. After narrowing the reasons, we’ve come to the conclusion that the TWA® has done two things very well: Built a solid foundation and brought about redefined business innovation. Foundation is the basis of which we build everything on. If you build anything on a faulty foundation, it's sure to collapse. A business foundation is where a brand establishes its voice and public reputation. The T.W.A. Flight Center was built in the early sixty’s (1962), a time hallmarked by its futuristic mid-century modern design. We can't help but draw a correlation to the hit television sitcom "The Jetsons" (A show about a family living in the future of 2062) aired in the same year, also heavily influenced by mid-century design. Much like the sitcom, we can only imagine the T.W.A. Flight Center had a foundation built with the future in mind. This is pivotal to any business model; because it gives way for expansion. This is what we like to call "Building on a Solid Foundation." If you start any business model/brand, you should also think about its scalability; and its future growth potential. Furthermore, after the assassination of J.F.K. (1963) , only a year after the flight centers completion and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 , ending segregation in businesses, theaters, restaurants, and hotels. The T.W.A. Flight Center could have only had an upbringing centered around progressiveness––––and for good measure, many years later (2019), it would take a turn

with a refined business model, a hotel whose history has now become its selling point. Hence, travelers worldwide desire to stay because of Its impactful culture and redefined innovation. Sustainability comes into play heavily here because although its design still very much holds 60s nostalgia, its brand has amassed great acclaim for old things repurposed for new. In the

correlates to ––– classic, and classic correlates to never old, but familiar. It typically takes years for any brand to become so familiar, trustworthy, and timeless that it garners respect and honor in the eyes of its consumers, this is what innovation at the highest level looks like. Nevertheless, Innovation is not only the birthing of new ideas, but also that there's nothing new under the sun, and that old things become new, over and over again; sometimes finding new ways to present old concepts aids in the of a brand/ TWA® is a perfect example of a long-lasting brand being revitalized for its current market.
