The Vibrant President
Dear Vibrant RC Mumbai Juhu Family, Rotarians see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Six words define us..
We continue to set the stage for our active participation in this community through meaningful service projects. We must be patient as it will take some time for us to develop our own culture, character and traditions and for all those members who are new to the Rotary family to learn how they fit in to this organization. Most importantly - thank you to each new member! Every one of you play a major role and is integral to our success. We are so happy to see involvement of our new members along with our veteran members. You are all the life giving blood of the club.
Let us “Be the Inspiration” and fulfil our commitment to help others in our community, our country and our world. May we abide by the rules we have established, those of trust, fellowship, ethics and may we place Service Above Self in our daily endeavours. And may we always test ourselves and our efforts to be sure they are the truth, good for all concerned, of benefit to mankind and provide peace and understanding.
“Our Deepest Condolences again to the family and loved ones of our rejoined versatile member, who just left us so early ..disbelief and shock for all. Rest in Peace Rtn. Manmohan!”
None of us are immune from falling into difficult times. That plight is something we all have in common. Another thing we all have in common is the ability to choose how we are going to react to the difficult times when they come. Will we allow them to destroy our hope for the future or will we decide to view them as a learning experience meant to help us as we continue to move forward with hope that the best is yet to come. Hope results in positive action only if you have the faith & you believe. 'The law of attraction' also argues that positive thoughts and actions reap positive rewards and vice versa for negative ones. This is one of the 12 universal laws of hermetic philosophy and was made famous in Rhonda Byrne's book “The Secret.” At the core of this philosophy is positivity. The only thing stronger than Fear is Hope and once you choose hope, anything is possible. “Never lose hope even in the worst of circumstances. Choose Hope and stay blessed forever”.
In closing, a quote from the great Greek orator, Pericles, who lived 495 to 429 BC and his words are still applicable today –

During Pitru Paksha, it is good to donate to the HUNGRY and NEEDY. There is a common belief that whatever service we undertake during Pitru Paksha directly reaches our ancestors.
On 2nd October,2024, on behalf of RCMJ family and RCMJ Club, we had a fulfilling Annapurna Donation Project. Also it was an important occasion of Sarv Pitripaksh
This was at “Acworth Leprosy Centre and Municipal Hospital”, a 134 year Leprosy Centre at Wadala!!! The hospital was originally called Asylum for Homeless Lepers, and was later renamed Acworth Leper Asylum in 1904. It's home to many people who have experienced discrimination and abandonment, and some ex-patients live there for up to 80 years. Sometimes the plight and loneliness of the so called socially deprived makes us feel the humanity needs.. The need of recognising them as a part of society, a part of humanity, it’s just pertinent that this small service above self ignites the belief of our humanity, When we met some of the patients and workers there, it was so emotional to give them a small help, more as a symbol of our accepting their presence in society and we care for them too. Rotary always tries to give the service to humanity.. It was a touching service surely. Besides the RCMJ Club kitty amount donation , We are also thankful to individual donors - Rtn Ananthalakshmi, Rtn Manmohan (Late), Rtn Indu and Rtn Shubhra. Report From: Rtn. Shubhra Mazumdar, RCMJ

Many suggestions came in later to add fifth service of avenue to serve the Youth. Council on legislation rejected it, as starting it would have led to starting more avenues of services such as services to elderly, to handicapped, etc. thus making it more complicated. The four Avenues of Service helped define Rotary’s programs, added organization to its mission, and for 80 years thereafter have made it a simple and proud task for Rotarians to answer the question “What is Rotary?”

October is a designated month of JOY OF GIVING by the Marketing Gods. What I love about this phrase is that in just 3 words it captures one of the greatest truths, that we struggle through a lifetime, to understand!October generally suits us fine as we have a lot of festivals and opportunities to celebrate, though Life itself is a good enough reason! Ramesh and I, connected to a contractor who manages labour at the Sagar Kutir Beach. We, along with our grand daughter distributed Solapuri bedsheets and sweets to 36 labourers.
Our little princess participated for the first time and interacted with them beautifully. We hope to have sown seeds of this JOY in her fertile mind.
