Release to parents Motor vehicle crashes continue to be the leading cause of death for persons 15-24 years of age. In an effort to change the driving behavior, thereby reducing the risks associated with young drivers, the National Safety Council developed Alive at 25. This program zeros in on these drivers. Alive at 25 is a highly interactive four-hour program which teaches young drivers how to take control of situations by taking responsibility for their own driving behavior. The National Safety Council, a leader in driver improvement training for more than 40 years, developed Alive at 25 to specifically target drivers in this age group. As part of efforts in the Wake/Chatham County area to keep our children alive and safe on the roads, Apex Police Department is hosting an Alive at 25 class. September 24, 2011 @ 8am– 12 noon, Alive at 25 for Young Adults This highly interactive four-hour program, taught by law enforcement professionals, encourages young drivers between the ages of 16 and 24 to take responsibility for their driving behavior. Teaching teens and young adults to drive safely is very important. Alive at 25 takes pride in accomplishing this. Note: This class is free of charge, but it does not qualify for citation reduction through the Wake County Court System. Due to a need to have driving experience, Students must be sixteen years of age to sign up.
