The doors solution to communal housing

The importance of security and fire protection within public spaces & social housing

Why is it so Important?

The threat to communal areas arising from intruders, vandalism, burglary, and trespassers can cause significant disruption and ongoing challenges, and is something that shouldn’t be overlooked.

These threats often lead to property damage, reduced property value, and decreased resident safety and well-being. The safety and security of a building is of vital priority to ensure all occupants feel safe.

Vandalism can take many forms, including graffiti, broken windows, destruction of common areas, and theft. Securing doors is an essential component in ensuring the safety and security of the premises and its occupants. Ensuring doorsets are certified to the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) or PAS24 standards will provide reassurance of how well a door can withstand attack and protect your building and occupants.

Bradbury Group and its subsidiary Newton Doors, work alongside clients, housing contractors, and trade partners to deliver communal entrance solutions, providing the necessary certified security protection. The ClassicAL range also comes with a range of ancillary items, including side and over panels, kick plates and locking options. The aluminium based doorsets are suitable for a wide range of applications, from hotel entrances to residential blocks, schools and student accommodation.

Why choose a steel door ?

Widely trusted for their reliability, endurance and strength, steel doors are frequently the door of choice for architects and specifiers.

While wooden doors have been utilised for centuries, they are susceptible to environmental damage and require an extensive level of upkeep to ensure their life expectancy, such as regular paint application. Unlike wood, steel is much more endurant with no shrinkage, cracking, or warping, providing better long-term value.

In more demanding environments, a steel door will out perform a wooden alternative and with additional benefits such as fire ratings, security certifications, sound reduction and resistance to burglary, it’s clear why they’re an increasingly opted-for solution.
