welcome Welcome to the 2017 Australian Under-18 Championships On behalf of the board of Bowls Australia, it gives me great pleasure to welcome all the players and supporters to Taren Point Bowls Club for the staging of the 2017 Australian Under-18 Championships.

Over the years, this event has proven to be a proving ground for some of the sport’s finest players and I’m sure that this week will be no different.

In the years ahead, we will no doubt look back at this event and reflect fondly at how far some of the players have progressed, how much they achieved in the ensuing years and how they first established themselves at the Australian Under-18 Championships in 2017.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Taren Point Bowls Club, Bowls NSW and Women’s Bowls NSW in particular for their contribution to the staging of this event, in addition to the contribution of all of the other State and Territory Associations for ensuring that their young athletes have been afforded this fantastic opportunity.

I’d also like to acknowledge and pay tribute to the members and volunteers who will provide invaluable assistance to the staging of this event.

I wish to congratulate all of the players for competing at this event, regardless of the results, and wish everyone the best of luck for the 2017 Australian Under-18 Championships.
